He’s still got everything to prove for me. It was never clear what a Frank Lampard team actually is, he never seemed to have a style of play or be able to organise a team. Didn’t like how quick he was to throw his players under the bus either. Think he needs another Championship job or maybe something like the u21 gig to cut his teeth a bit. U21 might be a good fit seemed to do well getting Chelsea’s youngsters playing Premier League football. The job was a big ask given his very limited experience. You only have to look at Nathan Jones to see how difficult a rookie manager finds it to adapt when what has been successful for them so far doesn’t work. They need time to build a comprehensive tactical toolbox. I think we’re seeing something similar with MON although he’s been managing for years his experience is very limited to backs to the wall underdog football and has minimal experience in how to play effectively on the front foot. Will he learn and adapt I’m not sure, the signs are not good. Agree, it was way too soon for him to get a job that big and pressured. Also agree that MON is learning on the job a bit as manager in English football and at a level he hasn’t managed at before.

I’m really fed up of us starting again every time we change managers . I think we agree it’s a ridiculous situation yet the signs are the owners will not modernise their approach and just keep hoping the next bloke is the messiah.

He oversaw two the worst England performances at major tournaments with utterly bizarre tactics and team selections That performance v Iceland was a national disgrace Let’s not sweep that under the carpet I would say that set up v Denmark under Taylor was streets ahead but wouldn't judge Hodgson on that. Perhaps they were just a better team. The Des Walker at left back v Norway? Iceland were a much better side and deservedly beat us. But it was a calamitous performance and result We got a 0-0 draw v Slovakia and apparently it was hard to break well organised defences down. Then six days later Germany swatted them aside. Similarly, France dealt easy with Iceland six days after we made them look ace. I know France and Germany have lots more stature than us but it shows how dreadful we were being unable to land a blow on them.

Agree it was England's lowest point, worse even than failing to qualify. & yet Southgate appears to get little or no credit for turning that round.

At the heart of it is so many have an unreal view on England's true status in world football

I feel like he’s had loads, arguably more than he deserves? Really? All I see is posts slating him It's how people habitually slag England off. The mentality that led to Croatia being labelled a pub team after we'd beat them. Croatia with them players.... a pub team.

I feel like he’s had loads, arguably more than he deserves? Really? All I see is posts slating him In 2018 everyone loved him. I think there has been a bit of doubt that's crept in about him since then, mainly because he seems incredibly cautious and reticent to use the creative players available to him. For me he's always been a bit suspect tactically. 2018 was a lot of fun but even then he nearly blew the Colombia game with a duff sub and then did blow the Croatia game with a duff sub.

Yep shafting Shawcross's International future wasn't Woys finest moment.. (From a Stokie perspective anyway!) & the way England set up & surrendered in tournaments under him was always very disappointing. Never been a fan of his but there's no faulting his career path in football & the high regard he's held in from within the game Harry Kane taking corners. Need I say more. You can thank Gary Neville for that.
