I have total respect for Hodgson very good manager & somebody who we could have done a good job here. But i hated him & everything about Crystal palace the day they relegated us at the Bet 365.

From memory he was always a bit shitty after we beat his Liverpool teams too. I dislike the chap.

Doesn't seem like the nicest fella here, over nothing really. he's got out at exactly the right time, squad isn't great and it's ageing badly. Needs a bit of a rebuild, leave now and let someone else clean up the mess. That’s poor. No need to talk to anybody like that. He went all Cockney villain there 😀

The guy is 73 and has had a 45 year long career as a manager. He has managed abroad not just in England. He is highly respected everywhere he's worked, even in Liverpool. He has kept Palace in the Premiership for 4 years while spending little or no money. And if he'd stayed for another year I'd bet Palace would finish the season still in the Premiership The language used about him is nothing short of disgusting and the user and the 2 people who liked the post should be ashamed of themselves.

He has proved a lot of people wrong who mocked his appointment when Palace were in dire trouble and heading for relegation.
Hope he enjoys a long healthy retirement, he has earned it.

Decent manager of middling clubs/nations, has a ceiling and not cut out for the big jobs.
Football he’s churned out in recent years has been numbingly dull and if you were a Palace fan you’d probably be ready for a change, provided the replacement was sensible and not Frank Lampard.

Not a big fan but this has just made him go up in my estimation - fantastic! His longevity in the game and willingness to venture beyond these shores has to be recognised......

Managed Malmö and inter Milan as well as Liverpool and crystal palace
Switzerland as well as England
That's a phenomenal achievement for a bloke who played for Ashford town , Maidstone United and Gravesend and northfleet .
Hats off to the guy , he is living proof of why would should all dream big and just keep going .

Mrs Hodgson won’t want him cluttering this place up at this point in her life. We send her a fruit basket and some smelly candles. He should be here by Christmas.

We beat Fulham when he was there home and away and apparently they were the better team on both games apparently. Seem to remember Tuncay having a great game. Hung Shawcross out to dry and for that alone I’m out!

He oversaw two of the worst England performances at major tournaments with utterly bizarre tactics and team selections
That performance v Iceland was a national disgrace
Let’s not sweep that under the carpet

That was the worst England result ever. Worse than 1950.

Perhaps they were just a better team.

Roy Hodgson: Largely very successful managerial career spanning five decades and nine countries. Fluent in five languages. Routinely mocked by football fans for having a speech impediment.
Harry Redknapp: Career dogged by allegations of corruption, admits to being practically illiterate. Well liked by football fans for being a bit of a geezer.

Lampard might be ok for them he did a very good job for Chelsea when they were unable to make any transfers. It only really went tits up when they started spending big. I don’t know whether he chose the players but he was certainly not able to get much value on the pitch considering the fees involved.

It was never clear what a Frank Lampard team actually is, he never seemed to have a style of play or be able to organise a team. Didn’t like how quick he was to throw his players under the bus either. Think he needs another Championship job or maybe something like the u21 gig to cut his teeth a bit.

U21 might be a good fit seemed to do well getting Chelsea’s youngsters playing Premier League football. The job was a big ask given his very limited experience. You only have to look at Nathan Jones to see how difficult a rookie manager finds it to adapt when what has been successful for them so far doesn’t work. They need time to build a comprehensive tactical toolbox. I think we’re seeing something similar with MON although he’s been managing for years his experience is very limited to backs to the wall underdog football and has minimal experience in how to play effectively on the front foot. Will he learn and adapt I’m not sure, the signs are not good.
