Under-21s boss and ex-striker Noel Hunt will take charge until the end of the season.
Reading's head of football operations, Mark Bowen, said “I would like to thank Paul for his efforts throughout what has admittedly been a frustrating and exceptionally challenging season so far. We would like to wish him well in their future endeavours.
“The board will work diligently to identify the manager who is the best fit for this football club going forward - a candidate capable of driving it towards a healthier, brighter future.
“However, for the next five games, our only focus is on doing everything we can to survive this season

So where does that leave Tom Ince? Reading station. He'll get on a train, change his mind and go back on to the platform. About 8 times.

So where does that leave Tom Ince? We released him, He's a Reading player. If that's what your asking.

So where does that leave Tom Ince? We released him, He's a Reading player. If that's what your asking. We sold him actually. I didn't like him much while he was here, but grew sympathetic to him as he suffered from mental problems, whether he admitted that or not. He was signed by Rowett, and like a lot of his signings, he lost the plot once the manager was sacked after a relatively short time. Which was a little stupid as subsequent managers, especially Jones, made him a key player, but he never delivered. He seemed to be saved again when his old man came in, but whether he does a "Delap" like Liam did or he soldiers on remains to be seen. Once a Potter, always a Potter, as far as I'm concerned. So I'm always interested in where their paths might lead.

So where does that leave Tom Ince? Where ever Daddy turns up next. Blackpool? Just as long as it’s not ST4 4EG.

Wilder's getting into dangerous territory although I imagine he's quite rich by now! 🙄 It's getting beyond a joke!

Beginning to think there should be some sort of limit on the amount of managers a team can have within the same season, it's becoming farcical.
Would be interesting if, like players, managers / head coaches can only change within the transfer windows.

Makes you wonder what the motivation for him will be to even bother with the remaining games?

Tbf, his contract runs out at the end of the season, so I'd suspect they won't renew the deal come end of season. So not sure I'd call it a sacking.

They've confirmed Wilder will stay until May - but it sounds like they've basically got his successor lined up

Don't see why football should be any different from any other business and why a non executive man manager should be considered an integral part of the organisation.

I was referring to the actual nature of Watford rather than any business model. Most businesses value their staff and don't just fire people after a handful of things "done". Sooner or later Watford will find it hard to recruit a useful manager.

Just organize a coach trip to Watford. They can line up 60 managers for the next 4 seasons. "Manager of the Week" is not a plaque at that joint.

Well you'd think they'd find that out before they pulled the trigger. I can remember Wolves doing the same with mad Mick proper brainless.
