Mate they lost to Norwich. Yeah and they'll appoint Rooney, now I think he's done a great job at Derby but not sure it will go well there, although I think Gerrard will be a great manager, maybe Wayne could do a job as well. Either way it’s pretty much untenable for Benitez there now.

Be an odd move after a good win yesterday or is this to do with the change in ownership?

I'd move heaven and earth for about 50% of that list to never even be whispered in connection with us.

Backed him then sacked him.
Awful way of doing it.

41 wins in 75 games. 2 points off top spot and they sack him because of a freak result? I hope they stay down there.

Backed him then sacked him. Awful way of doing it. I didn't realise how much they had gone balls deep. Their list of signings was big including £10M Lee Clarke one minute wonder boy, several Championship loans then L1.

That is absolutely crazy.
Freak results can happen.
They’ve been playing well by all accounts.

They have chucked in a few duff results lately however it's rare for any promotion side not to have a few wobbles

Sunderland have always had delusions of grandeur. Johnson is as good as it gets at that level for them, unless they're going full on Warnock.
Poor Danny, what has he walked into?

Under the Sale of Goods Act can't Sunderland still return him and ask for a refund, as he is not of merchantable quality?

Put the assistant in charge and wait until the summer. Watford will have had 3 ex-managers to choose from by that time.

My money's on West Brom to be the next club to part company with their manager - probably just before they play us. Sorry - someone's just beaten me to it!

WBA with ideas above their station again - he didn't play the carpet football they are renowned for the world over, then?
