I see this delightful soul as landed his first managerial role for Waterford in Ireland. He really was a loathsome twat. All together now; He's got bird shit,on his head...

He was one you loved to hate but I kind of miss characters like that and feel they’re getting rarer, even though we’re only talking 20 years ago (not even)

.... didn’t Taggs have a good go at him once, or am I thinking of somebody else? Wise?

Remember it well - certainly got the crowd (me included) over-excited. He was a particularly loathsome pr!ck, but you'd kind of love him if he played for us. Waterford's great place though, especially the Bluegrass Festival if that's your cup of tea.

Came across as an entertaining character and a decent bloke on Parkin's podcast. Knew full well he was absolutely hated to this day in Stoke

He's had an interesting year or so:
Locked up in Florida on assault charges.
Technical Director for The Bahamas Football Association, ( didn't "work out" apparently).
Now in Ireland, so he is.........

Taggart hid in the laundry room for 20 minutes until half time, god Bircham was a twat! don’t think we’ve had anyone to hate like that since the goofy twat known as Suarez sodded off to Spain.

It was this moment that did it. The ref turned down a penalty when Akinbiyi was barged off the ball, then Bircham went down for the red card about a minute later

Funny to think he was Public Enemy #1 for Stoke City fans for a short time and yet no one under 35 will ever have heard of him. He and his wife Jadene appeared on a WAGS reality TV series on ITV. Here they are...I must say they both look strangely dated now, her like something out of a well thumbed copy of Fiesta Readers Wives and him, well, it's hard to think of any comment other than 'you tosser'

Wow he really did get under a few people's skin. Good to see grudges not being held against him after all this time. A bit of a Harry Arter style character but got over him

What's clear from the interview with Bircham is that absolutely nobody wanted to mess with Ade Akinbiyi...

Nobody came close to Jim Gannon for a player whom I was always hoping would meet a particularly nasty fate.

Weird. Remembering how much I detested him has reminded me of how much I loathed Stockport County, who seemed to be important for us once as well. Mind you, the Birchams and the Stockports will come and go, but there will always be an Arsenal. Real hate lasts forever,

Real hate lasts forever, Was a player at Stockport who always seemed to wind our players up. not Gannon, he was just a pr!ck on a good day. Kevin Francis got a hell of a reception leaving the pitch at Wembley to be far although easy when you've won and he seemed ok anyway unlike some of them.
