I first had one in about '86 in Florida and have wondered ever since why, out of the 3 big burger chains over there we only got the two worst chains over here. Always had their burgers when I've been over if I've had the choice. Think there was a Wendy's in London years ago but that was the only one I heard of, never visited it.

Edit - it was Oxford Circus apparently, there was 10 branches in the UK in total, including another in London and one in Leeds.

Never mind Wendy's its Five Guys I'd like to see come to Stoke. Love their " build your own" style and the free peanuts.

Just along from Charing Cross station on the STrand, it was a regular before getting the train back to Chatham after a night up in London. I thought they were the best out of the burger joints.

I joined up with the hope/intention of having Chatham as my home port. I don't think I'd served so much as a year when the buggers announced they were shutting it down!

There was also one at Kings Cross.... used to live in Northdown Street and staggered in there regularly after a session at the Backpackers pub and The Church ...... a little pricey but the burgers were very very good.....

Wendy's isn't bad, at least it's fresh and cooked to order. Pretty simple hamburger, they typically don't put a bunch of crazy stuff on them. I've always liked the fries. Their Frosty is basically just soft-serve ice cream in a cup but it's not bad either. You could do far worse.

Shake Shack is the best US burger export in my opinion. Defo the best I've had so far as well. Googled the closest ones after posting the Wendy's question... Closest not London are reading and Cardiff!

Wendy's are shit. Culver's are the best. Now if we're comparing! Yes Culver's puts most places in the dirt. I just don't have one near my house, closest one is 3 hours away and I hit that place every time I go through there.

Pretty sure the burger I had from Wendy's in NY was called a 'baconator' and the smaller one called 'son of a baconator'.
Purely based on the names it's a thumbs up from me 👍
