This is excellent news. To my knowledge this is the first I have read that his injury was to knee ligaments. Must have been ACL rupture or something similar. As we all know from Bojan's experience some players never fully recover from that type of injury. In addition to the long recovery time, the pain and sound of the ligament tearing can have a psychological impact that it will happen again, which causes some players to be more tentative about physical contact, even though this injury is rarely caused by contact with another player. Let's hope Campbell has made a full recovery.

Correct, before this the club never mentioned the nature of the injury, which was always very strange, so my assumption was articular cartlidge, now they have confirmed ligaments so pretty safe to say ACL. I feel much more confident now about his recovery. V positive signs.

Looking at these two up front today, Campbell walks straight into this team as soon as he's fit enough

Looking at these two up front today, Campbell walks straight into this team as soon as he's fit enough To be fair, they haven’t really done much wrong. Surridge’s ball control is very good. When did we have the ball in midfield in an advanced position so that they could run off the shoulder of the central defender? The midfield has been so far away from them both all game though, they’ve largely had balls to chase down in a corner.

I’m watching the Stoke stream and you don’t see the strikers while the ball is with the defence. I don’t really know how to solve what we have at present, with the players available. It’s a shame Powell is injured, as his presence in between attack and midfield is key. To me, Vrancic has been the biggest problem so far. Sloppy in possession, which has reduced the chances to give the ball to Tymon. He also doesn’t make forward runs too often. Edit: I don’t think Campbell solves that problem today. I think he would just get frozen out.

Vrancic had a poor game, yet had the assists for both goals.

It must have been losing finalists since 2000 but have never won the cup. Which obviously rules out WHU, Southampton and Cardiff City.

“The fans will have to have patience when Campbell comes back because just like with Joe Allen after his injury it takes time to get back up to speed” Dean Holden outside before the game yesterday Also reckons he’ll be back in 1st team contention after the October break

Largely sounds positive; getting shots off, being fouled and generally dangerous.
Slightly worried about the sentence which refers to him not having the pace to get past one of their players. Suggestions it's fitness but it could easily be long term irrevocable damage.
Fingers crossed, he's completely different gravy to the rest of our strikers when fit.

I went last night and don’t share the observation about lack of pace. Tyrese moved well in open space and v opponents to this eye. The main problem he had was that no Stoke player was close enough to him, Patrick Jarrett the closest, & did well in the circumstances.

A fit Campbell for me is the best forward in the league.
