Massive game for our Bluenose friends, coupled with our woeful record at St Andrews means a tough afternoon could be in store. Hopefully Brentford will run them ragged this evening.
I think MON might go back to 4 at the back for this one:
Davies
Smith Souttar Chester Norrington-Davies
Mikel Thompson Clucas
Brown Fletcher Powell
Subs: Bursik, Coates, Batth, Tymon, Cousins, McClean, Matondo, Norton, Vokes
1-1 (Brown)

I wonder whether he'll be tempted to stick with Batth just because of the aerial threat of Jutkiewitcz and the fact that they play 3 at the back also.......

Said that where Karanka would get to the end of tight games and bring defenders and midfielders on and go defensive, Bowyer was bringing on forwards and going for the win. Like you say, tough game.

He wouldn’t have made one iota of difference. He brought a young player on in Rabbi and he was worse than useless.

In that case, we might as well play games with 8 or 9 players because there are at least two players every week who contribute fuck all- whether they start or come on as subs.

That's the one. Was trying to remember his name. Yes he’s covered them for years and I remember him from BRMB Radio with Tony Butler many moons ago.I follow him on Twitter and he’s been quite informative on Midlands football

That's disingenuous nonsense. Norton came on in a game and made a positive influence. He hasn't been given a chance since. It's pathetic.

Every sub who came on yesterday played exactly how you would expect them to. And if the manager didn't expect then he's a bigger moron than even I'm starting to think he is.

It was a standard piece of play that’s been grossly exaggerated. Keep trying to hound him out. He’ll be gone at some stage and then you’ll have a shiny new manager like Mick McCarthy to moan your bollocks off about.

Brown can barely pass a ball. We would go for that useless bastard as well. They all fell from the same tree. Boring safe bastards.

He's going backwards very quickly and forgetting the stuff that made last season so good. He's focussed on the bad parts of his time in charge then and just turned it into a horrible grind for no good reason.

I think it’s unfair to call MON the boring safe option. Good international manager but there was absolutely zero guarantee it’d work out. Coleman had achieved good things with Wales but was a disaster when he went to Sunderland. It seemed at the time MON had the potential to work out the same, hence the risk.
The past two appointments have been somewhat risky. One has (half) paid off and the other was disastrous.

Even if you are right, I’m afraid “mediocre” is where we are at the moment. If your expectation is for a good manager to come along and inherit this shit show you are in for a wake up call.

You spend 99% of your time here slagging of the players and then expect the same players to get us into the play offs. And? We have the best 2 young centre backs in the league. We have two of the best strikers in the league and one of the best attacking midfielders. That alone is a good base for a play off push. The Chmpionship isn't a tough league. It's easy. Big blokes at the back and blokes that can stick it in the net at the other end and you've got a start. I think we need 3 starters to make this a side that would comfortably be in the play offs this season. Even just a right back and midfielder may have done it.

This game is a standard 2-0 defeat for us we never play well at St Andrews & never get anything. I was there in 1988 when we won 1-0 with a Simon Stainrod diving header! Other than our cup win on penalties recently, I’m pretty sure that’s the last time we won there.
