I sincerely hope that the football authorities don't listen to Wenger. The Euros and World Cup should be played on a four year cycle. Any increase in the frequency of international tournaments would reduce their attraction in my opinion. They would become less of an event as a result. Wenger is best ignored. If football was entirely in his hands, it would be played on a pitch akin to a bowling green, tackling would be outlawed and the players would ware ballet slippers and tutus. Not to mention the introduction of ‘kick ins’ over throw ins. Your comment about the frequency of tournaments is spot on.

I'm a big believer that the top sides in international football don't play each other anywhere near often enough.
Still, I think a major competition every 2 years is enough. It's the qualifying system that needs looking at and overhauling.

Players and clubs will block this you’d have thought?
Players already play too many games and are at risk of “burnout” so extra qualifiers and limited break time over the summer will add to this.
Clubs, paying the wages and making the stars, won’t be happy either linked to the above.

Its nothing to do with football and all about more money and power for fifa over UEFA and to a lesser degree S America.
The poorer federations don’t make as much money with their continental championships compared to the euros. Hence why Africa, n America and Asia are in favour.
For an FA like USA, they only get one bite at good money every 4 years with this proposal it would be bi-annual.
However you water the tournament down it becomes less special and therefore less attractive to watch.
All the other proposals that go with it are pie in the sky

Bring back Sepp Bladder and his corruption!
I just watched Robin Williams in the 1994 World Cup draw (well worth a watch):

Apparently Sweden are two weeks behind concering this news. Over here they don't mention Arse Wenger at all though, it's all about "FIFA wants".
