What are people's plans for Austria? We go at 6am on Thursday 24th from Stansted (to Salzburg) and then will get trolleyed in Salzburg on thursday. We return 9pm Saturday. Prob hire a car to the Friday game and hopefully have a night at the hotel the players are staying in. Stoke STILL don't have a clue who they are playing and it looks like two local teams. Anyway, if any Stokies will be about in Salzburg on the thursday night - we should arrange a pub meet.

Hi mate, Like Ive said, bout 20 of us going to Salzburg on the 20th - thats where we'll base ourselves apart from the days when we are playing, usually travel to the game from salzburg on the morning and stay overnight in the village we are playing.
I wouldnt get too dissapointed if we do end up playing two local teams, weve found that over the years these prove much better days. Might sound funny but our lot had a much better Day/night at SV Bad Aussee last year than we did for the Real Madrid game. We just all got mashed and drank until we got thrown out of the players bar at around 11pm, only to carry it on until morning in the bars of Bad Aussee - and all this was on a monday!!!
Then it will be back to Salzburg for much more - The nightlife there is quite simple, we will be congregating on a street called Rudolfskai which joins with Gstattengasse further up the road, this is where the two popular irish bars are located. Other decent bars can be found in the square around the train station. Rudolfskai is much better though. Basically if you cant see us, you should hear us!!!

Have done the trip a couple of times before so know its gonna be a crackin week, the day out at the Roma game a couple of years ago was ace.
