I'd go for that as well, though I'd have Shaw over Chilwell. For me Chilwell's second choice, perhaps even third choice if he went three at the back again. Don't rate him. I'm certain Southgate loves him though. I’ve never got Chilwell tbh. He’s ok but nothing more than that.

Bayern and Shearer both go for Rice...says it all really! We want to WIN this competition, Rice and winks should be nowhere near the starting 11 Rice will get in Southgate’s team I would have thought. And is currently having a cracking season and being linked to the big clubs. Winks is my guilty pleasure but Rice is loved in the footballing world.

I've watched an awful lot of Premier League football this season (nowt else to do) and I've been very impressed with Rice, never got the hype originally but this season he's come on leaps and bounds, same with Mount, but yes that would be my front 6 as it stands. Unfortunately the defence and goalkeeper are a major issue. The only 2 certainties for me would be Shaw and Stones. Stones has had a brilliant turnaround this season and deserves a look-in, but I'd still half-expect him to revert to type in an England backline when he's not playing with Diaz. Would be benefitting from our lack of quality CB alternatives really in terms of being selected.

I'm surprised at the lack of people who'd have Sancho starting. Maybe to do with him being seen less with playing in Germany? More with the last few times I’ve seen him for England I wasn’t that impressed tbh. But he’s a fantastic option and if he carries on with the form he’s in at the minute then he’ll be close to starting.

I've been impressed with Reece James. Hopefully he makes the squad. Probably will as back up to TAA 12 month ago I thought Trent looked the best attacking full back in Europe. However his form has drastically fallen as with Liverpool's. I'm amazed so few arent considering Trippier at RB. Proven with England always been decent going forward and now playing in probably one of the best defensive unit teams in Europe. Assume with not playing in Premier League it's out of sight out of mind same as to why so few seem be selecting Sancho.

Yeah, a year ago TAA would've probably been nailed on, but there's definitely a case to say that the likes of Trippier and James are better all-round full-backs due to their defensive game. I went for Wan Bissaka as I feel our back line needs his defensive qualities more than if we had quality CBs, but don't expect he'll be starting or even necessarily in the squad. Still, our options at RB are insane and I'll likely be fine with whoever plays there.

Think Trippier will be in as left and right back cover with four centre halves as the prick plays three at the back. Which unfortunately means the hapless Kyle Walker may have a chance of making the squad as he can also fill in at right back. Our centre halves are shite anyway so doesn’t really make any odds.

Walker's brainfarts were costly in Russia. He was slightly out of position but they were still bad.

Kane up top with Grealish and Sterling? Hmm Ok, sold. Interchangeable with Rashford,Sancho Madison (maybe) Fullbacks bombing on Shame Rice isn't all that (yet, still young) I've watched an awful lot of Premier League football this season (nowt else to do) and I've been very impressed with Rice, never got the hype originally but this season he's come on leaps and bounds, same with Mount, but yes that would be my front 6 as it stands. I know he's playing really well but worried he can relapse into Paul Dyson mode at any time

There’s also an argument he’s never quite done it yet for England too, possibly because the side isn’t built around him to the degree Liverpool’s is? Rice surely will start in midfield, he’s having a terrific season.

The Wolves manager and expressing his concerns regarding the next international fixtures Lots of players travelling abroad, to mix with a different cohort of people? Will they be subject to quarantine rules before and after these games? The Australian open tennis was certainly a mess and that’s a competition mainly for singles games🤔 Surely a recipe for disaster

Funny to see the little bit of derision for him, it’s like our fans with Cousins. Players can improve. It’s a mad concept I know 😂

Do you not think?

www.oddschecker.com/football/euro-2020/winnerThe patriotic pounds have ensured that we're just about favourites. Can't work out if that's fair or not. Suppose objectively, we've got to be in the group of 5 or 6 teams with a real chance, especially with the semis and final at Wembley (as it stands at least)

Portugal might have a decent shot at it as well. Obviously have Ronaldo but then a whole host of supporting players around him including a class CB. Was the Dutch showing at the Nations Cup a blip or are they back to being a good national team now?

You'd hope we would reach the semi's at least. We'll have to see what they do with the venues - can see them condensing it down - but the route through to the semis does look tough. Still every chance of a last 16/QF exit. If win the group, we'd have the runners-up in the Germany, France, Portugal group in the last 16 in Dublin. (oh...and if we win that, it's probably Spain in the Quarters in Rome! ) If we finish runners-up, we'd face the runners-up in the Spain, Poland, Sweden group - so Poland maybe - in Copenhagen. Then have to play the winners of the France/Germany group in the QF in St Petersburg So we'll have to beat a real heavyweight to make it to the last 4 at Wembley!

That's what makes the Euro's the hardest natioanl tournament imo. There generally isn't an easy game. I know they've diluted a bit this time but still it always seems a lot more tough than the World Cup.

If you're one of the eight top seeds (which l think England currently are), in theory, you shouldn't play a side 'better' than you until the quarter finals. I'd agree with you that there are perhaps easier games up until the final eight in the world cup than there is in the Euros. But if you're a serious contender to win the thing, then any tournament that includes Argentina and Brazil has to be harder to win than the best that Europe can offer on its own?
