I think Sam Vokes days are numbered. I CANNOT remember the last time he had a shot (other than the header v Luton when 3-0 up) He won a couple of headers, but one went out of play, the other nowhere. The lads worked hard, but Brentford did just enough to get the better of us. Cousins unlucky with the bar and Powell rather wasteful on occasion. His days were numbered a few seasons ago - then we decided to spend £9m on him.

Well, are any of us surprised by the result, we're playing pub football at the moment, we're a nothing team, don't create, can't sting passes together, cant shoot, lack creativity and sorely lack pace, drive and purpose. If you continue to set up your approach to games with an underdog mentality against, lets face it, average opposition in this league, that's what your team becomes, a team of underdogs scrapping for leftovers, hoping the other team is more shit than you and hoping they make mistakes or have an off day.
Our current team set up is negative, one paced and failing but time after time after time it's rolled out, every match a version of groundhog day where we fail to even do the basics right, never mind achieve a level of footballing competence, it's grim to watch and serves no purpose. This is down to the manager, clear and simple, I thank him for last season but it's time he grew some balls "again" and put out a team that can compete not only physically but also in footballing terms. this is his team, his signings and it's woeful.

Really don't know what to make of that. First half we were disciplined, yes second half they were going to up it, but again we looked very disjointed...it's worrying at the moment..

Either plain thick, or just plain stubborn!!! As stubborn as the Capped one and that's the worry. Why the capped one managed one of the best periods in our history

We are a mid table championship team. We put together every season, a mid table team for which ever league we are in. Always have done. Always one or two players short. Either by injury and no ability at buying and selling players . This season FFP. Tony scholes said a few seasons ago no one wants to join stoke city. If that the mind set well what can you say. We are now seeing some ability players coming out of the academy. Forget us going up this season or next. Yep the board will be dead happy with this season

And yet Brentford can sign the likes of Toney, Desilva, Janelt, all of which are far superior to ANY of our team!!! Maybe we should cast our net further afield than just Scotland!!!

100%!
But I fear the geographical transfer restrictions are at board level too.

Mark my words, he will come off the bench mid week to save us I do admire the optimism. I seem to remember Vokes being on a hot streak early 2019 but he needs something to happen, whatever that may be! My comment was meant to be ironic if you didn't notice

Pavel I think you are deluded! It seems to me that if we hadn't conceded yet another worldy goal we would have got something against a very capable team who are scoring goals for fun. For two seasons now Brentford have been up and around the top three places in the Championship. I do not call that "average" MON at present has an absolutely threadbare squad to put a team out. Pavel you need to get far more realistic in your expectations!

Dmac there owner throws a lot into player development and scouting but it works very well for them. They scout quite a few players from ireland

A real dilemma now Clearly O’Neil is miles off knowing what’s required to get promoted or recruit a championship winning team as evidenced by both his cv and the last three windows and this seasons performance .
Problem is we have
1 A reputation of Patience ? We don’t like o admit we have Fucked up again 2 Even if O’Neil left our recruitment record of managers and players alike is so utterly appalling we are only likely to make things worse 3 Clearly the answer is we need change in the way the club is run time has passed us by but the only paid board member has a huge vested interest and 800,000 reasons a year for maintaining the status quo
What will Happen
We will ignore the need for real change and football knowledge leadership in the board room
We will ignore the need for a manager that’s won over course and distance previously as we did with O’Neil and Rowett and Jones as forest and Bristol City , Cardiff etc drove forwards and past us
We will stick with O’Neil and then part company mid way through next season . After another disaster of a summer is.blamed on FFP rather than the rank incompetence that bought us to its limits
We have Achieved the nearly impossible in turning the 31st richest club in the world into a paralysed , mid table championship dead weight marooned for years more likely to go down than up and incapable of using the incredible backing of the owners by our own rank incompetence which squandered all of the legacy of the golden era of our history.
No improvement will come until the leadership not the ownership does
