He was a regular in our reserve back four in the early 2000s.
RB) Brian Wilson
LB) Kris Commons
CB) Andy Wilkinson
CB) Gareth Owen
Commons and Wilkinson went on to make it a higher level, though ended up converting to different positions. Karl Henry was also part of the same reserve team.

Karl Henry was also part of the same reserve team. And Gareth Owen had a modest playing career but is now head honcho at our Academy - and appears to be doing a great job. |

Don't give up the day job 😁 Can't see the NWCFL finishing this season, any news from Alport on it? Ha ha indeed friends and family will agree!! Seems the consensus is that it will be cancelled, not a great few games for Alport anyhow, look forward to getting over for next season...hopefully |

As people said, we had high hopes at one point, and think I remember one away friendly (reserve) game where the home spectators remarked on his speed.
All I remember after that were a few beach boy remarks, that was about it.

I forgot that Commons started as a full-back. I remember the understandable outcry on here when he was angling for his move to Forest! it never really worked out for him, poor lad!!
