I use to work at Esso Research centre near Abingdon many years ago, we never got danger money for working there, there was some serious shit going on as well, buildings made for the roof's to blow off an not the walls etc. I always wondered why they built the new Paramins office next to the new pressure testing chamber, maybe the architect didn't like the price of fuel and oil back then

If the company I worked for was making as much as Shell then I'd feel pretty inclined to ask for a payrise!
They do an important job for the rest of the company, lets face it without these tank drivers a fair few people would be in trouble!

They are contracted to Shell! They are paid by Shell! No the haulage company has a contract with Shell to delivery petrol, the drivers have a contract with the haulage company. The haulage companies pay the drivers. Would you be happy if Fuller want in and demanded £25k a week from Stoke because sky were making £x billion / million a year ?

No because you're twisting it there. Fuller's pay is not derived from a contract with Sky through Stoke, he's contracted solely through Stoke.
These drivers are contracted to the two seperate companies which are then directly contracted to Shell.
I honestly cannpt see the issue with them striking for more money because of the Profits that the company that contracts out to them are so massive. Like I said before many of us need the petrol and simple supply and demand would suggest that Shell can afford to meet their needs at least halfway.

His contract is solely through Stoke (in the same way that that the drivers are solely contracted to the haulage companies) so what business of his would it be if sky (the end customer) was making millions or billions ?
These drivers are contracted to the two seperate companies which are then directly contracted to Shell.
Glad we agree they don't work for Shell
I honestly cannpt see the issue with them striking for more money because of the Profits that the company that contracts out to them are so massive. They did turn it down because they know that Shell can pay more and low and behold Shell offered more. Funny that isn't it?

Except Shell haven't offered any more money THEIR employers the hauliers have whether Shell pays the hauliers anymore remains to be seen but a big congratulations to Unite who turned down 13% over two years to come away with 14% over two years or roughly £320 more on their basic about £6 a week

Yep - big congratulations to Unite for setting a trend that will lead to higher wages for everyone and the demise of the Brown government.

It will have no bearing on Shell whatsoever, how silly off me. The 13% wasn't the original offer either was it.
