You'd think the club's record player should have something named after him, but just like in his own career, he'll probably be the 12th in line.

Matthews - Our most skilled outfield player and football's first Knight Banks - the world's best keeper during much of his time with us. Ritchie - still our record goal scorer Franklin - Probably England's best ever centre half and treated shabbily by the club after the Bogota affair And I'd name the medical room (if we have one) after Denis Smith! I'd be tempted to name the upper tier of the main stand after Greenhoff who remains my favourite player. Name the hospitality boxes the Greenhoff boxes

The Terry Henfleet Stand has a certain ring to it I must say... Is he still out on that loan? You really shouldn't make light of this. What happened to Tezzer was one of the great tragedies of our game. Sorry for being so brusque bet emotions are still raw. If only he had rang a tradesman.

I think I would go for managers.
The main stand already has the Waddington Suite so I would rename the whole stand after him.
The Boothen End I would name after Lou.
The stand facing the main stand I would name after TP.
And the South Stand would be named after Durban.

Sir Stanley Matthews.
Ricardo Fuller.
John Ritchie.
Gordon Banks.
Joking aside, the fact that we haven't done this is nothing short of a fucking disgrace. The backward thinking of certain members of our board really pisses me off.

McGrory, Mather (& even a case for Hughes) ahead of Durban would suggest - appreciate the first two are before our time

George EASTham ( Sorry to Cecile Eastwood) Neville SOUTHall. Brian WESTlake. Matthew UPson ( closest I could get to North.) Neville Southall doesn't have a good word to say about Stoke.

Joking aside, the fact that we haven't done this is nothing short of a fucking disgrace. The backward thinking of certain members of our board really pisses me off. Backward thinking that chooses to sell the naming rights to sponsors, thus bringing revenue into the club and giving it more leeway when it comes to FFP? It might not sit well with us as fans but this is how the modern game works whether we like it or not.

If we'd still been at the Vic I'd be more tempted to use the name of Stoke legends who actually played there.
As the Britannia/Bet365 is part of our most recent history id reserve naming stands after players who've graced the modern stadia!
The 'Crouch' End - (The Boothen End) Has to be the net end where he scored the wonder goal in. Fuller, Assaidi & Griffin goals also scored great goals for us at the Boothen End but non better than Crouch's IMHO..
The 'Delap' Stand - (The main stand side) as this is the side alot of his wonder throws leading to some great & memorable goals were launched in from. The throw in assisted goals v Villa in that first Prem home and the ones V Arsenal from the main stands touchline are obvious ones that spring to mind..
The 'SJ Walters' End - (South Stand) SJW scored many great goals for us but the one that springs to my mind is the one he scored v Chelsea where he totally spun side show bob on the half way line before running the length of the half before dispatching the ball into the net for a quality strike. & who can forget him celebrating in front of the Liverpool fans at that end after his goal in the 6-1 victory match! SJW overall contribution to our Premier League adventure makes his name worthy of having a stand named after him.
Now the family stand I'm torn between naming The 'Shawcross' Stand due to his length of time spent at Stoke & obvious dedication & service to our club especially where he was part of our promotion winning team & then captained us during our Premier League rise, European adventure and was the skipper who led us out in the clubs first ever FA Cup Final!
The 'Fuller' Stand was also a close consideration as he really was a magical player for Stoke & scored some absolute quality goals for us & again was part of our promotion achievement and all that followed on after that.
But overall I'm giving it to our loyal & legendary status Club Captain, so The 'Shawcross' Stand it is..

The Leigh Richmond Roose Stand, A true Legend and War hero who was a Stoke goalkeeper from yesteryear, he was a playboy, academic and larger than life character who served and died in the First World War. Why this mans life hasn’t been made into a movie is unbelievable, as unbelievable as the escapades that he got into.
