Isa Guha is a fabulous cricket commentator, but the other woman are awful , and they got rid of Boycott so they could bring a female black person in to fit their diversity agenda Ebony Rainford-Brent has been on TMS for years, are you seriously suggesting she was the reason Geoffrey left? ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) She was on occasionally yes but if you read Boycotts own word it was the reason they didn’t renew his contract

Very annoying voice poor commentator is that the best the BBC can come up with FFS. She just seems monotone to me. Marginally better than Jermaine Beckford though..... he seems very nervous about saying the wrong thing all the time. Just tell it like it is I say Pretty sure she said Frank Lampard would be happy with the three points ![(lol)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/lvpvZ64EmrkLcuVniUmo.gif) agree with the Beckford comment.

She's not great. A lot of others aren't either, but I think her voice being so loud and forward is what gets on people' nerves. You can usually ignore Murphy et al. as a bit of background noise.

She’s got a horrible grating voice for a football commentator.

Gottta love the sheer comedy gold in this thread - the stellar irony on offer is 👌🏻. A load of old white blokes that have never been anywhere near professional football and who come from a land that has its own dialect that no one else in the world understands are getting narked off with the credibility and quality of tone from a former English International footballer/full time professional pundit. Oh and somewhere I think someone mentioned their gripe was because it happens to be a woman too. 😂 Ageist

Her voice being too loud is more a problem of the BBC sound engineer not getting the balance right. It isn't difficult to lower or raise the volume of each commentator or pundit - they each have their own mics. Even the pitch of the voice can be altered.

Ok - I'll bite Women commentators are awful and they should keep them away from the men's game - how about that? None of them have played at a level that could even compare to League 2 in the men's game so how about we let some ex-Vale players commentate and pass on their insight before some screeching harridan? More BBC woke nonsense - if they want real equality then put the womens' teams in the mens' league and let's see what happens Have you looked at the BBC football website recently, when you click on "More" under Football Scores in the top right corner? Is that the BBC's view on the relative order of importance of the football leagues now? I don't know what's more offensive, the suggestion that he Women's league now has a higher status than the Championship or that the Scottish Premiership has - either way, it's bullshit Do you think women should be allowed to attend football matches?

Not really, it isn't just a problem with women's voices - some men have louder or higher pitched voices than others and sound engineers are there to get the balance right.

That’s as maybe but her voice was too loud, whether it was her or something technical. It was just annoying. I don’t know why people are turning this into a sexism argument yet again. I’ve said the same of others who were all men. It was just annoyingly loud man or woman.

I said her voice was too loud. Yet again pounced on as being a sexist bigot by certain people who can’t let it go as a simple opinion and try to delve deeper because I’m talking about a female.

Plenty on this thread have said that they are not annoyed with the criticism of Karen Carney. It doesn't annoy me but the fact that the thread title didn't even mention her name was a bit daft and disrespectful. I and many others didn't like Hinchcliffe the other night but no one started a thread titled "can someone PLEASE shut that bloody man up."

It is all about the pitch of the voice and how you hear it.
The Chelsea game i thought Karen Cairney was talking too much almost as much as the commentator, now watching Utd/Liv, Jermaine Jenas is the co commentator and he is talking as much as Cairney did, but is easier on my ear.

TBF there were plenty of comments in the match thread and with it being a Stoke game I doubt anyone though to start one just for Andy “when I was a premier league defender and this is how I used to do it” Hinchcliffe.
