Weather warning for heavy rain in South Yorkshire.
Reminds me of the time Sheffield Wednesday were trying to sign Kanu.

Good job we won't be relying upon bonus points awarded for goals scored! No but if we were to finish on same points and same gd as one or more teams (not very likely but it could happen) then the team with most goals scored will go up and it won't be scfc. Things may improve if the manager listens to the fans and gets a prolific striker in pronto!

Things may improve if the manager listens to the fans and gets a prolific striker in pronto! No, because we've been trying to get a prolific striker for years, and it's been abject failure. Every time we thought we had found one it's turned out to be disastrous (Berahino, Vokes, Gregory). What we should have done years ago is to have groomed strikers the way we've groomed defenders. But every time we had one on our own hands we allowed them to leave instead of giving them security and chances to prove themselves.

Met office for Rotherham showing not as bad as first feared?. It's falling as steady, heavier rain in West and South Yorks at the moment, I think the really torrential stuff is further west at present. If it stays like this, even all day (not forecast to stop here till 10pm), I'd be surprised if it was called off. I vaguely remember a game in the past when we couldn't get into some of that car parking nearer the town centre that's on an island between the river and canal / river navigation due to flooding / high river levels, but obviously that's not going to be a problem tonight as no supporters. COYMP.

Keep us up to speed Leeds Stoke?. I'm only basing my opinion on what I can see out of my back windows (25 miles N of Rotherham!) and the BBC weather mate . It is still the same here - steady, heavy rain but not torrential. I see the BBC are saying that a major incident has been declared in South Yorkshire due to flooding, but the picture they keep showing is York city centre (which is beginning to flood along the river now, as it often does) so I'm none the wiser!

I’m feeling optimistic about tonight for the first time in a while. Rotherham aren’t a bad side but I saw a different stoke side on Saturday. One that knows how to attack and create chances. 3-1 stoke for me! Does anyone know if it’s on sky red button?

Massive game this is, three points is a must if we are going to kick on again, a draw and we start to drift into mid table, a win and we look like play off challengers. Come on lads.

I don’t think anyone should underestimate these. They aren’t a bad side at all and they are coming off the back of an excellent result on Saturday. I’m expecting a very tough game.

It certainly is pelting it down here in Yorkshire.

50 is still a way off but i think it’s early to say that we’ve a decent cushion and a point would be decent . In fairness we are as near to bottom half as the play offs but it's all very tight. This run of 1 in 7 wins in league games or whatever it is has absolutely killed us. Three points tonight would put us back in the mix though.

We've been dour for large periods, yet we are only a couple of wins away from being right back in there. Very winnable game tonight providing we set up correctly.

Rotherham are no walk over but we have to go for it tonight. I’d rather a 2-2 than a 0-0. We have to start being more expansive and I think we have the pace to do it now.

Is Nige doing weather now then? I think the South Yorkshire "major incident" is a bit misleading, as the incident hasn't necessarily occured yet. Rather they are covering their options ready for what might happen later, as the declaration allows the local emergency services to start bringing in special measures, such as cancelling staff leave, requisitioning possible evacuation and command centres and so on. Overall the reality of likely conditions that could occur in the area is about as predictable as tonight's match result.

Didn't realise we have won only 1 game out of the last 10(including the 2 cup games)but then again have lost only 1.Stating the bleeding obvious we are drawing too many games and we need to start turning those draws into victories, hopefully starting tonight.Got to respect Rotherham and won't be easy but with our squad we should be beating teams like tonights opponents. Imho the play offs are easily achievable.
Rotherham 0-2 Mighty Potters.(Fletcher,Powell)
GGGOOOAAARRRNNN STOKE.
