All things borne in mind it's surprising our schedule hasn't been disrupted

The pitch at their new ground should be ok I would have thought.

The pitch at their new ground should be ok I would have thought. Looks like a sustained amount and starting very early with weather warnings issued by the met office BBC Weather forecast for Sheffield, Sheffield. Tuesday: Heavy Rain. Max 11°C, min 9°C. Wind 17mph SW. www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2638077

It’s rare for a game to be called off due to rain at the top levels isn’t it??

It may do us a favour if we have a full weeks break.

Decent drainage system below their pitch as its pretty new. Can't see it being a problem tbh.

Wouldn't be the worst news. Players looked knackered playing on the heavy pitch yesterday.

Was looking forward to watching this one, but it does look horrible weather.
I tend to agree with the OP in that this one may bite the dust and if it doesn’t, can’t imagine it would be the greatest of spectacles.

It wouldn't do us any harm if it was called off. That pitch at Blackburn will have taken its toll on us.

It’s rare for a game to be called off due to rain at the top levels isn’t it?? I'm really surprised that there aren't more cancellations due to heavy rain, especially at the "top levels". Sometimes I really fear for some of those very expensive hair do's. And as for the strong winds well . . .

There was a well known Derby Manager who reportedly used to have even the muddiest pitch watered during the half time break, to prevent a better side playing their football and he wanted to change the pitch factor to level things up.

Eeeeee. Back then even t'strongest players used to struggle int mud. There was one game they lost "ball boy" in one very muddy corner of pitch and it took all of 20 minutes to find him. Then on, FA changed rules or summat so that ball boys had to be at least 4ft tall to avoid further risks of loss.

I have both referred and run the line there. When in the middle covered in mud. When on the line covered in SPIT ! They dont make grounds like that anymore. 🤨

Behave .....I’m from watching football from that era also and if the match was a farce it was postponed or abandoned and none of that misty eyed stuff went on

bloody pussies should have seen the pitches in the 60/70"s Let’s not rewrite nostalgia history eh....Games were called off for waterlogged pitches back then also By today’s standards of playing surface, there would have been no matches at all. At times the pitch at the Victoria Ground at kick off was mostly rolled mud. There were no subs either. That being said, they only played once a week with league cup matches and the occasional replay played mid-week.

I think it was around that time that the league record was set for the longest ever effective slide tackle, at over 35 yards.

Rotherham have some top ground staff so it'll take some freak weather conditions to get it postponed.
