So don't bank roll ,just state his plans ,I've said it twice , where are we planning to be in 5 or so years.Arsenal have 2 players on the pitch that we could of signed ,one that we bailed at the price , look what they are worth now . Are we playing safe ,with a safe budget ,self sufficient ,or are we contenders . It's all Coates choice just let us know Which two players?

The chairman and his family have thrown their own personal wealth down the drain over the last 5 years and continue to support Stoke City Football Club. If they withdraw their support you'll soon see what a football club in crisis looks like. They've made mistakes, they've made them with their own money and with the best intentions. It's life. And don’t forget when most clubs are not receiving any gate revenue our chairman and his family have kept our club solvent when some clubs like one previously named ARSENAL have gone with cap in hand for a convenient government loan (forever hang your heads in shame). I believe that know one from the management down to turnstile operators have been left out of pocket or have been furloughed. That’s the sort of club I’m proud to be a supporter of, and one I believe that Michael O’Neill can rebuild if we don’t drive him out of the door. For gods sake it’s time to take a reality check and realise we are not a Premier League club anymore and we can’t compete with a top three team. But Leicester can give us hope, because just look at their story over the past five years, that’s inspirational for anyone. Except that Leicester broke ffp to get out of the Championship and have managed to stay up and escape punishment since. I'm not sure whether the penalty still awaits them but escaping relegation the first season was very important to them. They are one reason why punishment started being applied the season the rules were broken if it changed the final outcome.

Aside from footballing success, what ambitions do the owners have for the ground? The picture of the incinerator steaming away during the Leicester match has me thinking that the incinerator is due for major refurbishment or decommissioning www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/stoke-city-leicester-match-report-4873153www.stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-trent-news/city-incinerator-set-replaced-2025-1376490If the site were to become available could the Stoke owners acquire it with a view to: a) Improve the access and egress to and from the ground so people don't have to leave early to avoid an hour's delay getting away. b) Provide additional parking, possibly multi-storey. c) Provide a direct road link with the Queensway/A500, town centre/A5006. d) Bus station. e) Improve access for emergency services to the site. Expenditure by bet365 or Coates on such improvements could avoid being counted as FFP expenditure, if it was done for social need of the area.

They are one reason why punishment started being applied the season the rules were broken if it changed the final outcome. Aston Villa broke the rules to gain promotion twice, once for going massively in dept by buying players for extortionate prices and wages which nearly caused the club to fold, the second instance was the selling of the stadium and any other properties owned by Villa at very questionable prices, both were being investigated by the EFL & the Premier League but it seems to gone very quiet. Weren’t Leeds under a investigation for the same as Villa (irregular purchase price of the stadium) ?, Crystal Palace are in financial trouble over income tax, and how did Bournemouth manage to abide to FFP when surviving on meagre gate returns whilst also spending big money on transfers ? Didn’t they break FFP to gain promotion. It seems to be one rule for one club and a different one for the next, just look at the difference between Bolton and Bury, the leagues have tried to clean house but it’s more corrupt than ever.

I remember when Leicester offered 7million for Nzonzy and I laughed out loud ,Leave the mighty potters with our 9th place finishes for a club no bigger than us who are fighting relegation.Anyway they signed Huth "as Hughes had no faith in him " and the rest is history .However ,we had at least as much money as them for new players, We had just as many supporters ,Now they look light years away and I'd love to know where the fault actually lies and if it's been rectified. If we go up through playoffs are we going to be a Wolves with a strong team to hold our own or a Norwich playing relegation season after season. What are we doing Every side could ask the same question, each game comprises of two teams, one will inveriably be better than the other, on the pitch and off the pitch. We was wanting in the off pitch stuff when on pitch stuff was going well. Hopefully this can be learned from, that’s a challenge in itself, maybe that’s something mon has covered, and understands. It’s footy we got wait and see. Only 1 team can win anything.

I just don't get coates , makes no sense to not invest in a proper CEO .
A fool and his money are easily parted in football and Scholes has shown everyone in football , how to lose millions in an often rediculous manner.
And how to keep making the same mistakes, again and again .
And yet he is still here !
Unbelievable
Beyond logic

The Chairman's long term plans, and those of his family, would appear to be continued support for the Club they so passionately care about.
That will do for me.

At his age it's not wise to have long term plans!

Plenty round here remember when Leicester went into administration, cleared their debts and escaped a points deduction...the rules changed for the following season when they built their stadium ? 2002 after relegation, about 3 months after stadium opened. They owed over £30m and didn't own the Crisp Bowl (some USA company owned it apparently) Of course they got promoted straight back to the Prem that season...no points deduction

How anyone can slag off Peter Coates is baffling to me.
People are all too quick to forget about the investment he has put into our club.
Let's not forget at the huge amount of people they employ in the local area.
We are very fortunate to have them as owners.
