So ALK Capital are confident of completing their takeover of the club by the end of the week.
ALK is an American sports investment firm headed up by Pace, former president of Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake.
At the risk of sounding naive (or even stupid!), my question would be Why?
Why are a American sports investment firm interested in taking over Burnley?

I wouldn't wish any club, even vale and Burnley, disappear completely but new owners, who they think will take them to the champions league taking them back to where they belong in the 4th division would be lovely

It looks like their days in the premier league may be coming to an end either this season or the next year or two though. They’re not a club I enjoy watching as many other fans felt about us no doubt, they have some proper fans though and they were the smallest town to have a premier league club (not sure if this is still the case). Dyche is an excellent manager but maybe he has taken them as far as he can given the resources available, unfortunately for him he’s not fashionable enough to get a top job.

All of that is very reasonable. I live here though and I'm not reasonable. Dyche is a whinging arsehole and Burnley are as tinpot as tinpot gets. I'll hopefully enjoy watching new owners asset strip them and take them back down the leagues. EDIT - presumably the whinging arsehole will point out how his goalkeeper wiped out Sheff Utd players whilst failing to collect that corner as well?

Dyche looks like a bailiff, perhaps he'll replace Paul Bohill on Can't Pay We'll Take it Away if he quits football 😎

Good spot. This is why they are interested, easy money to be made, leverage up and extract dividends. Interesting how much money they have in the bank given how little they spend on players. Will new owners be looking to splash out? Presume they will try and spend enough to stay up, no more. Day he gets away with a lot. His comments about how football is a business and rich clubs shouldn’t support the rest, completely ignored his own career. I also read a report alleging he gets a cut of transfer profits on academy players - shocking

Much like the Glazer family at Manchester United? Which is all fine whilst they are enjoying premier league riches. When it goes tits up and they get relegated, it won't be so manageable then.

So true, this kind of crazy deal worked at Man Utd because they had a huge fanbase, at Burnley they'll be relying solely on their PL income. This will quickly turn sour when they get relegated which I think is likely in the next few seasons if not this time around.

Now the fantasy of Arsenal being relegated has gone Burnley, and ideally Newcastle, are my new wish to join doomed Sheff U.

It also wouldn't really benefit them to take the £55m out as dividends as they essentially pay tax on their own money, I presume the previous owner didnt take it as dividends because a profit on the sale would be better for him for tax purposes.

So if using £95m as the purchase price that means they've borrowed £80m from dell and put in £15m of their own money?
