I just don’t see what Thompson offers nothing for me that Cousins does better. Though I’m not saying bringing all 3 of Clucas, Allen or Mikel back they’re all significantly better players than Thompson
I’d like to think that being at home we’ll start with 4 at the back

Can Clucas defend? In midfield players regularly run past him and he is not super quick. Seems a big ask to play at left back. Don’t think MON fancies him out wide, didn’t play him there when MCClean was injured last season or when Bruno struggled at LB

I don't get the anti Thompson brigade, he has potential I think to develop into a very tidy player. I like the recent addition to his game, with late runs into the box. Yes he should have scored yesterday, but is increasingly starting to make those forward runs now..very useful player..

Why do people continue to put Verlinden in their teams. He clearly won't figure in the match day squad when all return from injury. I would expect when all are fit, Mikel, Clucas and Allen will be the midfield 3, not saying I agree with that, but I think it would be MON's preferred midfield.
