Kosher meat in the market place is miniscule whereas Halal meat is over presented and growing. It would be good if we had the opportunity to avoid this barbaric practice. There should be no place in the UK for the ritual slaughter of animals you can't pick and choose which barbarism is acceptable. www.dialrel.net/dialrel/images/factsheet-market-uk.pdfThat's true. So both should be equally highlighted. Whether one is more prevalent in the market place or not is irrelevant. Traditional Kosher or Halal shouldn't even be allowed in the UK (or any westernised country) in my opinion. However, if one is recognised by the RSPCA as being no different from standard slaughter methods (stunned first) then that should be highlighted. The point I was making about Kosher meat is it's not aimed at a wider audience as far as I'm aware. If I remember correctly wasn't there an issue some years back regarding Wembley sourcing Halal meat only? It would be good to have some labelling on these products whether they're stunned before this practise ensues or not.

Perhaps fears of being called anti-semitic play a part? The RSPCA reckon nearly 60% of Halal meat is stunned in the UK before slaughter, whereas 0% of Kosher meat is. Interesting that Halal gets most of the backlash though, despite the Muslim community clearly changing their ways on this topic. I don't have an issue per se with ritual slaughter providing it's not cruel. Anyway that's slightly off topic albeit linked to practices of animal cruelty in the 21st century. There should be no place in the UK for the ritual slaughter of animals you can't pick and choose which barbarism is acceptable. www.dialrel.net/dialrel/images/factsheet-market-uk.pdfIt's a barbaric evil and cruel practice and has no place in modern society.

That’s ok then I’m sure the chicken is much happier that it’s only him and a few mates getting there throat’s cut than the whole flock

The chicken has a tough time being slaughtered by foxes and having their throats cut by barbarians pursuing some ludicrous religious ritual. I'm virtually down to fish now no idea how long that's going to last.

A fox was caught by mistake at a hunt in Buckinghamshire on private land today , it was killed by three of the dogs and then the huntmaster tossed it into the pack of hunting hounds which ripped it to bits , now that is barbaric It is barbaric. Unfortunately the fox would not have been caught by mistake.
