Saturday is a real tough game, I think this game will be a true test for the team.
If me manage to keep a clean sheet against the 2nd highest scorers in the league, and the leagues 2nd top goal scorer this would be a great achievement.
Defensively they aren’t the strongest, but with our now apparent lack of goals a 1-0 win would be fantastic.
The back 4 pick themselves now, and you would imagine Thompson would come in for Tyson. So who do we play up top? Does Ince drop to the bench and push Brown out wide and Fletcher up top?
I personally see another low scoring draw on the cards..

If Fletcher is fit then he has to start, with Brown dropping to the bench, otherwise I'd keep the same starting lineup and bring Brown and Verlinden on later in the game.

I agree with the fact it’ll be a tough test because on their day for me they’re probably the best football team in the league along with Swansea/Bournemouth.

I’ve got Blackburn down as dark horses for a top six spot. Say what you like about Mowbray, but he’s pulled off a master stroke in the loan signing of Havey Elliot. Armstrong is getting all the plaudits at the moment, but it’s the youngster on loan from Liverpool who’s the real danger man.
Also watch out for Rothwell in midfield. I know for a fact that MON is a huge fan. It’s not gone unnoticed that he’s out of contract in the summer.

Blackburn are exactly the type of team who will cause us problems. They pass and move well and are quite fluid moving forward. I imagine will press high up the pitch and try and hit them on the break as often as we can.

Probably the most inconsistent side in the league. Let’s hope they have an off day cus they look quality when they’re on it.

Mowbray side?
Got to fancy goals at set pieces then.

I think we might see Mikel back for this one, get a game into him before Tottenham. Fletcher must start too. Blackburn are like any other team in this division, blow hot and cold as do we. Potential for a good game.

Have they not turned us over with ease at our place the last 2 seasons.

Have they not turned us over with ease at our place the last 2 seasons. Wouldn't call 2-1 'ease' Last season was unlucky, at 1.1 ONeill threw in forward players, we essentially had five up front only for Rovers to break away and score Previous season although it finished 3.2 with Berahino missing a last minute penalty - Etebo played left wing - a draw would have massively flattered us.

I pointed out on the West Brom thread that I thought he was their best manager in recent years. His teams play some decent football which is a joy to watch.

A couple of Blackburn mates watched Stoke game at QPR and think they will win easy. They do play a flowing game and hard working for 90 mins plus have a couple of good finishers.
They have a very good keeper this season, the last two visits their keeper was the weak link, and they won.

It will be a tough game but once again we have the advantage of an extra 24 hours rest than the opposition. It seems this has been the case quite a lot recently, although it doesn’t always show on the day.
Hopefully Mikel will back for this one.
Bursik
Collins Chester Souttar Fox
Mikel Cousins
Ince Powell McClean
Fletcher

We've beaten better teams, they have some good players but mid table on merit.

While the three relegated clubs look likely to fill three of the top six spots ANY of the next ten teams could make up the other three spots - there's bugger all between us. Who foresaw Fulham's second half run last season?

Blackburn are very consistent in one respect; they consistently beat the teams below them with the odd exception and consistently fail to beat the teams above them without exception.
It is high time we scored from a shot by one of our players, it seems ages since we did. We will need at least 2 goals to win but it is hard to see who is going to do it. Fletcher is long overdue.
Assuming Mikel is back I would like to see him employed further forward and Cousins retained as the sitting MF.

Start Verlinden in front of McClean, who for me is regressing despite his brilliant attitude.

We won't win if Vokes and/or Ince plays. Yes, they are that bad. And I'd rather play more defenders and try get a point. So therefore - 6-3-1 - Bursik; Smith, Batth, Shawcross, Chester, Collins, Fox, Cousins, Thompson, Tymon; McClean Subs: Verlinden, Fletcher, Lindsay, Oakley-Booth, Brown, Porter. Blondy.

At some point we're going have to give Powell a rest for his and our own good.

Cousins may do well to break up play and protect the defence. But he'll never score for us or deliver a matchwinning pass, unless it's a punt that somehow ends with Vokes a yard from goal by mistake.

It’ll be a close game, but I think they’ll have too much in attack.
Armstrong is pretty lethal as is Elliott.
If we concede 1/2 I just can’t see us scoring enough to get anything from the game.
