It's the same number of stoppages though, shouldn't make any substantial difference? I think with 5 allowed instead of 3 managers are more likely to make use of the 3 windows than they have done sometimes in the past. I have wondered that but I'm not quite sure it stands to reason, in fact I think you could as easily make a case that it would have the opposite effect. Be interesting to see the data on it.

It was the 4th official who decided it was 6 minutes. Then, during extra time, there was an injury delay (TOB?) so he (rightly) added over a minute on for that. I was always under the impression the ref decides how much stoppage time there is? That’s my understanding too. The 4th official posts the minimum number of minutes to be added, but the actual time is kept by the ref. The ref will also additional time for delays that occur during stoppage time due to subs, injuries and time wasting.

I don’t see how people are saying the Cousins one could have been a red? It was nowhere near a red. Completely missed the ball and took out the man but it’s a silly yellow and nothing more. Reaction of the players makes it look like a red and made the referee think twice about it. It was a scissor tackle though, aren't they deemed reds nowadays? I think on a different he could have walked for it.
