Having watched both series of STID, I have a lot of sympathy for their supporters. Car crash football for the last 5 years.

Looking for another new manager 🤔 Possibly the worst manager we have ever had, and you have to be pretty darn shit to take that accolade.

Phil Parkinson has failed at every job he’s had, it was only going one way

Paul Cook would be a good choice It's probably the only club at that level he'd consider.

Met a geordie couple in Egypt a few years back- proper sound. Told him how I'd love go a sunderland/newcastle game and a few months after getting back from hols he called me offering me a ticket! Happy days- great weekend (think you won 3 nil, something like that anyway) Also watched Sunderland till I die- thought it was great- like the owner and the marketing guy (or whatever his role was)

There but for the grace of God.....
So many clubs seem to go into a downward spiral when they drop out of the Prem.

Phil Parkinson has failed at every job he’s had, it was only going one way Not at Bradford he didn't mate Took them to the league cup final as a bottom tier club and got them promoted aswell. He's loved there. Don't think he did badly at Bolton either Woukd imagine the expectation at Sunderland is far higher than Bradford and Bolton with far greater pressure. Also his footy isn't the easiest on the eye,

No disrespect to Sunderland but Turmoil they’re in and weight of expectation can’t imagine why any half decent manager would go there.

Poyet apparently very likely to return as manager.
I know Stoke fans would probably only remember Poyet as the manager who gone mental after we got a man sent off away to Stoke, but other than Allardyce, he is the only one to install an actual style of play. I doubt the league one plodders we have would be able to play his possession football though...

I doubt the league one plodders we have would be able to play his possession football though... that was outstanding, he came in after DiCanio who was a basket case and the first thing he did was take his clothes off on the touchline in anger at the red card

Quite a few similarities with Stoke in a way. I had a colleague long ago who was an avid Sunderland supporter and we used to go down to the Vic to watch the game. We were lucky to avoid the trap door to League 1 last season and are now on the up. Their previous owner didn't help and it is a timely reminder that we have the Coates family supporting us. Whatever else you can say about Uncle Pete he has stood by the club, the supporters and the city, I would like to see them back in the Premier League where they belong (alongside the Potters, of course).
