There must be consequences. There must. We can't just return to the status quo. They are saying at least 2000 outside the Emirates protesting. Just imagine if they hadn't have pulled out!!! That is phenomenal imo. Total respect for those Arsenal fans. But apparently fans from other clubs there too! Wow!

What's changing the owners going to do?
Fans need the majority say. Simple as that.
Get rid of the Glazer family, get rid of FSG or whoever, it doesn't matter. Someone else will come in with the same intentions.

There must be consequences. There must. We can't just return to the status quo. What is achievable here? Transfer ban? Points deduction? Fines? Forced relegation? Can't see the latter happening Any fine would need to be sizable to be effective Guess it depends on what the other Premier League clubs think

Minus 18pts. No transfer ban...but Massive, Massive Fines - enough to negate any transfers over the summer and stop them from considering doing this again any time soon. (Because they will) The money from the fines - disbursed to lower league clubs fighting for survival, to at the very LEAST replace what they've lost in gate receipts during Covid. (You guys could probably come up with a good list) Owners attending any official team function, or in any team facility/office must wear pig-noses for a year. Since they are now The Pig 6.
In general: Remain ruthless in the fan-led review process - put some teeth into it. On EVERY Single item. Don't leave it up to the other Premier League clubs, take a leadership role for once. Step aside...let the man come through. It's time to regulate.

Just reading on the BBC website aboute the ESL and it mentions Klopp and Guardiola not happy that the new Champions League format will mean an increase in games! What do they think the ESL would have created?
Also in the article David Moyes suggests that the number of games could be reduced by creating a Premier League 2 and including Rangers and Celtic within it.

It’s quite obvious the Spanish “giants” are bankrupt both financially and morally They’ve overspent for years and realise it can’t go on They thought they could piggy back on the greedy big 6 from the Prem and for a few hours they were right What’s even worse for me is that through this Super League they wanted to cap player wages at a % of Revenue, not to help lower ticket prices or pass money to the grassroots, but so they could reap huge profits through their closed shop league. I think a lot of people would argue footballers are overpaid, but I don’t think anyone is calling for a salary cap that just results in the money saved flowing into the pockets of billionaires.

Be fair - Klopp and Guardiola spoke out against the ESL just as they are not in favour of the new Champions League format. They have been consistent - no need to have a go at them.

Dimon looks as if he is trying to land the prize for the World's biggest hypocrite. The ethics of the proposed ESL seem to have been the direct opposite of some of his statements about the need for justice and equality. The ESL looks more like the idea of a Trump supporter than someone who claims he is a Democrat.

I cant see anyone, apart from a few Championship clubs and maybe 2 or 3 big team managers wanting this, and Championship clubs don't have a say in Prem League reform as far as I understand. Why would Rangers and Celtic want to go into a Prem League 2 playing against teams like QPR and Stoke presumably? Maybe I'm missing something!

A merit driven European Super League will now happen
It's the same when the EPL was mooted and eventually happened
Could be a clever bit of trickery suggesting an elite only league first

Rangers and Celtic would jump at that, they would get far more TV and sponsorship money

I'm sure Rangers and Celtic would love to enter Prem League 2. They would believe (and certainly hope) that it would mean they would get promoted to Premier League 1 after the first season. I'm not saying I want to see either Rangers or Celtic in any format of the Premier League - but I can certainly see why they would want to be in it. As to the concept of a Premier League 2 - I can certainly see some advantages. It would certainly mean less of a wage difference between the two leagues than there is between the Prem and the Championship. AND it might see the end of Parachute payments which to me are ridiculous - far more sensible for all Championship/PL2 clubs to share that money and for contracts in the Prem to ensure that player wages dropped to affordable levels if a club was relegated from the Prem.
