Where were we? This is a very good signing we should have been all over!

Where were we! Very nearly echoes of Norwich and Delia.

Where were we? This is a very good signing we should have been all over! Good player, but I thought the most important for us was to reduce the numbers!

Where were we? This is a very good signing we should have been all over! We were probably determined to say within the limits of FFP - given that we didn't manage to shift even one of the following off the wage bill: Ince, Bauer, Wimmer, Lindsay

We aren't playing with wingers though, are we?
And even if we do switch, there's a bit of a logjam -with McClean, Tymon, Verlinden and Ince competing on the left and Brown, Campbell, Ince and Verlinden on the right

That’s fifteen players Forest have signed this window.
It’s going to be hard for them to keep a squad that size happy, as we well know.

I wonder to what extent our dramatic win there last season, contributed to this new rebuild of their team.

I wonder to what extent our dramatic win there last season, contributed to this new rebuild of their team. The manner of our win certainly contributed to a change of manager and that will have influenced the number of players brought in this window - so, yes, we have contributed a lot to their need to rebuild.

The reality of our situation seems to escape a fair number of our fanbase it seems. We have got rid of some high earners just this week! We certainly reduced the wage bill by the sale of Butland. However we will be paying a fair chunk of Gunn's wages and a proportion of Edwards' wages I should think. And the sale of Butland (apart from the benefit to the wage bill) won't have helped us with FFP as Butland's book value was almost down to zero anyway especially in the last year of his contract.

Butland will have been written off over his original contract length so will have been 0 value on the balance sheet. Any fee we got will have been pure profit from an accounts perspective. The bigger proble this year is the Parachute payment dropping to just 10%, that's probably the best part of a 30 million drop in income from last season.

I thought the parachute payment for us this year was 20% = £15 million ish. I could be wrong but I am fairly sure that is what it is.

Yes my bad it's 20%, still a hefty drop in income without any major sales.
