Fox had the make that tackle because he carelessly & under no pressure at all gave the ball away in their half which forced Tymon to concede the free kick while covering for him. Check the full replay. That's not to say he is responsible for the goal because others contributed but its aa case of poor distribution putting ourselves under needless pressure. True but he did stop the cross coming in which was my point and didn’t always happen before. The idea of the thread was an open question as to what we think of him, so we are getting mixed reviews...fair enough.

Play wing backs (Pieters and Diouf) without a wing back Sell Pieters, a left back Play a back four without a left back Buy a left back Play wing backs and play the left back at centre half
Is this madness a common thing or just at Stoke?!

This for example for the corner when they scored he did his job by stopping the cross coming in....they just had to then defend the corner where Chester went awol. Maybe Ive been overly influenced by the Wednesday fans I know through working in Sheffield, who thinks he is pants. Lets see how it pans out with him. I'm sorry but I've just watched the highlights again and can't see where you are coming from. How far back are you going before the corner because there is no free kick in the highlights. In the highlights I watched Davies rolled the ball to him but Fox had to rush his clearance as the ball was running away from him. In doing so he slipped but cleared the ball towards the half way line where Clucas was beaten to the ball which was passed to the edge of our box where Souttar managed a half block/clearance which went to a Birmingham player who then passed to the player whose cross was put out for the corner by Fox. Don't make things up to fit your agenda. I'm sure that every goal can at some point be tracked back to any player doing something wrong at some point in a match. If he hadn't done this then this wouldn't have happened and he wouldn't have had to... etc etc.

I thought some of his passing into the front two was pretty accurate on the whole, no better or no worse than Martins Indi.

Still can’t understand why if he’s intent on playing 3 centre halves he’s playing Fox. He’s a left back and surely that’s what he was brought to the club to be. Ridiculous playing him there when we’ve got BMI and Collins. Square pegs and all that 🙄

Why did we throw Fox forward at the end and not Souttar. Fox just compounded the awful game he was having.

What’s happened to him? Clucas mentioned as injured but it seems Fox replaced by Tymon/McClean. Option for left of back 3?

What’s happened to him? Clucas mentioned as injured but it seems Fox replaced by Tymon/McClean. Option for left of back 3? Option? He was 1st choice in that position before he picked up an injury. He played the last 2 league games there prior to the Luton match and getting injured. Remains to be seen whether MON still has him as 1st choice left sided centre back when he’s back available. McClean and Tymon have certainly jumped ahead of him as left wing back though and rightly so IMO.

I suppose Fox could have come on as sub instead of Tymon but other than that he is already starting to look surplus.

He is the only one who can play left back if we do go to a four eventually.
Maybe our lack of alternatives in both fullback positions is the reason we are using three cbs and makeshift wingbacks?

I suppose Fox could have come on as sub instead of Tymon but other than that he is already starting to look surplus. As I mentioned further up, he is/was first choice in the back 3 before his injury. Not sure if he’s much of a talker/leader or not. Therefore MON may persist with Chester slightly out of position even when Fox is back available to supplement Souttar and Collins🤷♂️

He should go back in the side on the left of the back 3 when fit/available.

I suppose Fox could have come on as sub instead of Tymon but other than that he is already starting to look surplus. That means you think Chester is better than Fox in the left of a three and Tymon or McClean would do better than him at left back. Hard to understand what you have seen that would lead to one of these views making sense never mind both

He hasnt put a foot wrong defensively so far.
I would play him with Souttar and Collins in back 3
Chester can sit in the stands

And he’s on a par with Chester for passing but beats him because he’s left footed. He just can’t cross. But if he’s playing LCB then that’s no mither.

I liked his 2nd half performance today. That is exactly what you like to see from a LB.
Looking forward to more of this.

Quite encouraged today as the game wore on, although he had a bit of trouble with the winger initially - had a bit of Higgy/Pieters about him, which is all we can hope for.

Good defensive display again! For me the 3 at the back should be picked from Souttar, Batth, Collins andn Fox every game if possible! No more Chester please!

I like him, surprisingly good in the air, especially as he doesn't look that tall. Good solid signing, he's not a worry for me..

Rotherham best player was their right winger I thought but Fox did well
What he's like with the ball when he isn't faced with a dangerous winger I'm not so sure about.
