www.theguardian.com/education/2020/sep/27/uk-schools-told-not-to-use-anti-capitalist-material-in-teachingThis is unbelievably scary and absolute totalitarianism. If anyone thinks this is a good idea, please explain how this is in anyway any different to what you would expect in China or any totalitarian state. All think the same....that's where we are heading In new guidance for teachers and school leaders issued on Thursday, the Department for Education categorised anti-capitalism as an “extreme political stance” – equating it with opposition to freedom of speech and antisemitism.

It’s not “references to anti-capitalism” though, it’s material published by politically extreme organisations (obviously there’s still a debate to be had there)

I think this is Boris Johnson trying to take out the civil service and the teachers. Watch out for similar moves against the BBC. Wholly depressing not because I’ll mourn the end of leftist influence in these establishments, I mourn that they should be apolitical in the first place.

As most environmental groups find it hard to see a solution to the current situation within the confines of capitalism, this is quite significant.

As most environmental groups find it hard to see a solution to the current situation within the confines of capitalism, this is quite significant. This is what I was thinking Anti-capitalism is increasingly being applied to environmental groups and part of a disturbing criminalising process. In new guidance for teachers and school leaders issued on Thursday, the Department for Education categorised anti-capitalism as an “extreme political stance” – equating it with opposition to freedom of speech and antisemitism. Anti-capitalism is anti-semitism......Wow!!!!! This is just staggering...what a Government can get through in times of a pandemic!!! We should all be disturbed by this regardless of belief systems.

The prospect of the vile Paul Dacre and the detestable Charles Moore running Ofcom and The BBC respectively should put a shiver through everyone's soul.
Maker no mistake, this is beyond Trumpian and represents a hard right wing takeover.
Truly chilling goings on at the minute.

Personally I think the youth of today should be educated as to what communism is: an idea by a social philosopher who assumed that the next step in human evolution was the end of difference between humans, particularly material differences.
This idea turned into an ideology. That ideology was used to shape societies and in doing so led to the greatest collective loss of human life in history
Anyone left who still this communism is a great idea should be left to pursue this blind alley

The tsars were bad enough, the communists took it to a whole other level, then you had the fascists thrown into the mix. I believe what you're seeing on the left is an amalgam of these ideologies and beliefs. The same tactics are being used and the education system is being used to indoctrinate the young as anyone old enough to have had a reasonable education can see through the Marxist bull shit being spouted. They're playing a long game but it won't be long before they've got kids grassing their parents up.

As should the theory of capitalism as an economic and political system. Nothing controversial about that......

All the rules say is that they shouldn't be taught what communism is using Das Kapital as their text book.

I don't agree with something, ok let's make it illegal!!!.....what a wonderful open-minded society! The general principle behind this guidance is "Schools should not under any circumstances use resources produced by organisations that take extreme political stances on matters." The extreme stance regarding capitalism relates to organisations that seek to "abolish" (not, for example, "reform") or "overthrow" (not, for example, "phase out") capitalism. While I'm sure there are finer points to be discussed in terms of the detail there, that would appear to be a decent guiding principle for the education of children. I'm not sure what you think censorship has to do with it, nobody has an automatic right to have their published material included in a school curriculum.

This country needs Teachers, media ( BBC, SKY in particular) to be non biased. We really could do with a newspaper that actual reports views from both sides. As a voter that votes for the best for me and what i think is best for the country i would be welcome.

Communism is pure ideology, whereas capitalism is actually an evolved economic form of exchange.
