Yep, they went down 2 or 3 seasons ago. Lee Blakeman was crying his eyes out on the radio. It was absolutely ACE. That long ago? i thought they played Crewe last season or did they go up? To be honest despite us nearly ending up there I haven't paid much attention to lower leagues, listen out for Pompey and Stanley results as have friends who support them. Watch plenty of other leagues MLS, la Liga etc but not Happy Shopper Leagues 1 and 2 Crewe were promoted last season - they have some fantastic young players, but it looks like the core of their squad will be ripped out in the summer (lots of interest from Championship clubs). Bizzarrly enough Vale would probably have got promoted last season if not for Covid. They were on a terrific run on form and only missed out on the play-offs due to the league being calculated by points per game.

I can see them ending up third from bottom but staying up. Listening to the interview with the goalkeeper the dressing room seems in bad way but luckily for them there are two worse teams in the divisions that will keep them up

Mc Garry is a Vale Fan! Anyone who worked with him in Crewe Works back in the day, knows only to well! To many of us over here this makes him even more loathsome! Just goes to show, I'd of bet good money he was Crewe through and through, didn't he run one of the under age teams at Crewe? Don't know whether he ran one of Crewe's younger teams! However he certainly ran an Alsager based team in the Crewe Lads and Dads League in the early 90's!

No wins in 6 for their new boss.
I think they’ll do enough but it’s likely to go the distance.

Back to back wins, I've an uncomfortable feeling they may escape league 4 this season? How right you were mate, but escaping to the Vanarama National League. I've got a lot of Vale supporting mates and they are seriously worried, for good reason as imo they're gonna end up getting relegated. A lot of teams around them have games in hand and they just can't score. They're playing Barrow and Grimsby before the end of the season and I can see them losing both games, the squad is poor and Darrell hasn't made an ounce of difference.

I think they'll worm their way out of it like they normally do, sadly

And Barrow win it, only 3 points behind with 2 games in hand, need Southend to go on a decent run like they did a few weeks ago

It still leaves Southend and Grimsby below them.
Those two sides are hopeless, I don’t see either of them going past the Vale unfortunately.

What did that banner say, that was strung out behind the aeroplane? Was it,"We stood there laughing"?
If Vale drop down to the next level, I will be rolling around on the floor in fits of hysterics.
We who laugh last!

We who laugh last! And the official Port Vale Twitter site mocked Stoke City after we lost to Crystal Palace confirming our relegation on the very same day they lost 5-0 at Cambridge I certainly hope the club hasn’t forgotten that

They'll escape because they're not quite as bad as Southend or Grimsby.
God I'd love to see them relegated to non-league.

We who laugh last! When West Brom beat them 3-0 in the play off final and Peter Swan (I think) was sent off, I didn't stand there laughing. I was bouncing around the room like Shaun Ryder on Medusas 😎

They’ve still got to go to both Barrow and Grimsby so there’s still hope.
