Fantasy Football League's merciless baiting of inept former Forest striker Jason Lee.
Our Price and Andy's Records.
Global Hypercolour t-shirts and inexplicable accompanying shorts that served only to highlight to others that you had sweaty balls.
Drinking Mad Dog 20/20 down the park until you were blind in one eye and/or knuckle deep in a girl called Charlotte who lived on a council estate.
The collective national delusion that 'Noel's House Party' was not a pile of fucking garbage but somehow represented the pinnacle of Saturday night prime-time entertainment.
"Somebody's got the Thunderball"
Jackie fucking Brambles, Ibiza Uncovered, Danny Baker's Daz Doorstep Challenge, Ray Wilkins & Gil Scott Heron narrating a controversial Tango advert, and BSkyB Squarials.
'This Life' and 'Game On'.
Buying a pair of Diadora Borg or Adidas Campus from Bourne Sports and getting change from £40.
Everything is shit now and I blame foreigners/Muslims/Queers/Tony Scholes/Tories/Momenetum/The Illuminati for everything. The cunts.

Sir Cliff's impromptu concert on Wimbledon's centre court.
The Grand National that never was.

Genoa station at Italia 90. 4 policeman picking me and my mate Spider up to physically put us on a train to England's next venue...v Belgium and whilst hanging upside down and holding on to my bag and beer I got my passport out of my back pocket in the struggle to show them I wasn't English so they threw me off the train onto the platform instead . I must have travelled 20 feet, we actually went to the game as the train was free and empty so we slept on it (part 1) 'ang on, 'ang on........

get your own back with Dave Benson Phillips I was at high school in the mid-to-late 90s and me and my cohorts hypothesised a kids game show called 'Get Your Own Black' in which Dave Benson Phillips was both the presenter and prize of said show. I was mildly racist back then.

Before Gazzetta Football Italia 😬 My recollection is somewhat hazy, but I thought Kabbadi was shown on a Sunday afternoon/early evening too? Edit: After a quick search, seems like you're correct,a Telegraph article has it as you remember it.I defer to your superior memory for 90's ephemera. 👍

The 90s reminds me of going gigs all the time, and one of the very best venues was the Wheatsheaf, much missed. Possibly the last great era for guitar based bands? I think at the time we were a happier country too, we had an inept Tory government that somehow delivered a well off country. Naturally of course, we couldn’t wait to ditch them for Tony Blair and New Labour. My fondest memory was the red hot summer of 1995, I had a Yamaha RD350YPVS and I loved taking on all comers in that care free (reckless?) way of younger days. I now ride a BSA 650 at moped speeds. I think as well that period between coming out of recession and the arrival of Blair were the best years 94-96. Great pop culture, heaving pubs, Brit Pop, and the laddishness that characterised that era, I loved it. I didn’t think about improving my education or job, it was motorbikes, music, booze, football, birds and I didn’t think much beyond the next blow job or away match. Looking back I think it was one of those eras when it was great to be young, really care free stuff.

Channel 5 launched in 1997. On a similar note however (and given that some obscure Channel 4 programming has already been mentioned), can anyone remember 'Under The Moon' that used to be on very late on Wednesday nights on CH4? It was an odd sports discussion programme that was presented by Danny Kelly (now of TalkSport) and the comedian Tom Binns (who later went on to find fame with his Ivan Brackenbury character). Was on for about 3 hours from midnight and had all kinds of mental segments, phone-ins etc. I remember Half Man Half Biscuit being guests on it once alongside our very own Pottermus. I've recounted memories of this show to pals and associates down the years but the only people who've seen it were two pals from my younger days who used to watch it and discuss it at the time (and one of those is serving a life sentence for murder). Maybe I imagined it all?

One thing that sticks out is kids used to play football or ride bikes/skateboards after school. Now you just see them on a street corner monging out to the latest grime offerings.

The start of rave culture, house music Golden at The Void yes Mitsubishis, california sunrises, maple leaves. Spilling out of the void at 4am making friends with everyone. Sitting in a strangers conservatory, miles from home, at 6am realising you should have gone home at 4am as the sun starts to come up 😂 Getting home at 9am as your mum and dad are having their breakfast, trying to avoid them as you look and feel like you’ve just been dug up 😂
