Channel 5 launched in 1997. On a similar note however (and given that some obscure Channel 4 programming has already been mentioned), can anyone remember 'Under The Moon' that used to be on very late on Wednesday nights on CH4? It was an odd sports discussion programme that was presented by Danny Kelly (now of TalkSport) and the comedian Tom Binns (who later went on to find fame with his Ivan Brackenbury character). Was on for about 3 hours from midnight and had all kinds of mental segments, phone-ins etc. I remember Half Man Half Biscuit being guests on it once alongside our very own Pottermus. I've recounted memories of this show to pals and associates down the years but the only people who've seen it were two pals from my younger days who used to watch it and discuss it at the time (and one of those is serving a life sentence for murder). Maybe I imagined it all? It was sensational www.football365.com/news/a-football365-love-letter-to-under-the-moon

Mitsubishis, california sunrises, maple leaves. Spilling out of the void at 4am making friends with everyone. Sitting in a strangers conservatory, miles from home, at 6am realising you should have gone home at 4am as the sun starts to come up 😂 Getting home at 9am as your mum and dad are having their breakfast, trying to avoid them as you look and feel like you’ve just been dug up 😂 Doves?

Being out on the piss 4 or so day/ nights a week with great people no social media or phones actually talking to the people your out with not staring at a phone talking to people not there or taking photos oooh look where I am.
Dutch Peter summed it up perfectly for me a few posts ago (for me without the motorbikes) Great pop culture, heaving pubs, Britpop and the laddishness that characterised the era, I loved it. I didnt think about improving my education or job, it was motorbikes, music, booze, football, birds and I didnt think much beyond the next blowjob or away match. Looking back I think it was one of those eras when it was great to be young, really care free stuff.

Playing lads n dads down the shot fields in Milton. No game was ever called off, even if we were waist deep in snow.
Someone found an orange casey from somewhere and lads actually crying as the ball hit them on their very cold legs, leaving red marks as the dads bollocked them 😂
Getting back in your dads car after and praying for the heaters to warm up.

There would always be smashed glass all over the pitch whenever you played at Bentilee and usually about 20 local yobbos stood behind the goal telling you they would smash your face in if you scored😬 Never did get around to breaking my Bentilee duck for some reason😏

That’s just reminded me of a time I took a bird back after a night out. For some reason we had a Men Behaving Badly video on (VHS). At the end the theme tune would just play on loop. So whilst I was on the job we just had the theme tune playing in the back ground, proper comedy porn music🤣.

Just seen a chap in Lidl rocking a thug life baseball cap and Dan Marino Miami Dolphins shirt. Surely that's 90s right there.
