Free transfer. I've always rated him myself, although clearly not a player in the Pulis mould.

Was speaking to a Brazil fan yesterday and apparently Fulham offered him twice what they did, something like £40k a week! Its ever so slightly out of our price range and shows the kind of teams we'll be competing with next year.

Although they obviously have Al-Fayed, it is scary to think a team like Fulham (who hopefully will be one of our main rivals next season) can blow £40K a week on someone like Gera. Yes, he is a good player but he is hardly going to tear the Premier League apart is he?!

Strange one this- I know the money obviously a factor but how could someone leave the bright lights of Smethwick, it's council estates, run down pubs, 1.99 all you can eat Balti houses, it's vast array of mk 2 Ford Escorts, 28 year old grandmothers, dogs with 2 heads , bus shelters that double up as hotels for Fulham of all places?
I think he'll be homesick once he sees the slums of Chelsea- he'll have to learn a complete new language as well, English

I suppose if Hodgson really rates him then £40 k per week for a free transfer is as attractive as £20k per week for a player they might have to spend a few £million on in transfer fees.
Nice to see the Baggies get "blown out of the water" on wages for a change - they have done it to enough Championship sides in the past, including ourselves!

Just wondering which way Gera will get to Fulham ,Will he like anyone else would "HOOF" it down the M5, M42, M40 to London ,or will he in true West Brazil fashion take the A491 to Dudley,do a neat little pirouette at the roundabout, back to Tipton cute little 3 point turn, down to J1 M5 takes exit to Smethwick weaves wonderful patterns round the backstreets of Samba land back to J1 etc.etc. yaaawwwwwnnnnn.

I've been impressed with what I've seen of Andranik- thought he would do a decent job for us.
