I thought Brown looked surprisingly good with his back to goal, he is willing to run in behind too. I was pleased with his cameo, never a dive though.

Why maybe? Fans who have watched a lot of him and liked him said he was limited with the ball. Charlton fans couldn’t stand him? As I said there’s nowt wrong with him being dodgy on the ball if he’s good defensively. Because that’s better than any other option we have there. But it seems pretty nailed on that he’s not the best with the ball. From history and the games he’s played with us so far. McClean shouldn’t be used as wing back at all imo. Left wing or nothing. Maybe is because I've barely seen him play for Stoke and isn't a player I'd formed an opinion if before we'd signed him. Tachyon put some stats up showing he was getting good early crosses in (mostly to Fletcher) last season. Want to see what he's like going forward when he's not faced with a tough opponent. But you’ll ignore the history and the evidence so far. Odd. Especially when it’s not even that bad of a thing if he is the steady eddy defensively he’s meant to be and has shown so far. McClean does lots of early crosses too. It’s not necessarily a good thing and he reminded me of him tbh. Does it out of panic because he doesn’t want the ball when there’s time and space to get closer to the byline.

Let's put it this way, certainly a lot better than this time last year.

Tymon should have started left wing back if we are going to play that formation - just not enough attacking threat down the left
Happy enough to see Fox at home in a 4 and understand that yesterday was about getting something and not losing. What encouraged me was that we will clearly win more than we lose with that group of players once they are settled in and comfortable in the formation they are expected to play in.

I think playing Tymon there might possibly depend on the cover he gets from the LCB. Tymon isn't the best defensively and i'm not sure MON would risk him against somebody like Bowen when Bruno is poor behind him.

I agree with what many have already said.
Fox is not a wing back, but good defensive. Tymon or Mclean should play wing back. Mikel was a bit rusty. I think he will be much better with a few matches in the legs. Brown looked very good the few minutes he got. Speedy and very activ. He is a handful for defenders.
Look like O`Neill want to play simple away from home. Long balls up to a big target striker and work hard. I think we could have outplayed Millwall. I am not to much fan of playing Pulis-ball.

Yeah that has to be a worry. We have a team that can play football. Would mean dropping one of the centre backs though, which I’m highly in favour of.
