JOM looks quality, just a couple of misplaced passes other than that a big thumbs up and a 8/10 performance Fox would like to have seen him try and get forward more, defensively ok 6/10 Fletcher tried to make a things happen and looked a real handful 7/10 (for the time he was on) Brown looks quick and lively but not a lot of time to see what he really has to offer. Thought? Gouranga.

Id have asked jom and fox the other way round. They were all fine.
As a team we looked fairly solid, which provides a lot of promise compared to previous seasons.

Fletcher looked as he did vs Blackpool when he came on. Bright and a much more agile player than I thought.
Brown too early to say. Wasn't a dive but whether it was a penalty - I don't know. Looked lively though but means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Fox is not a wingback. Thought he was one of the poorer players myself.
JOM didn't get on the ball anywhere near as much as I would've liked. But the only factor in that is the system we play. What's the point in having the midfield we do if we bypass it everytime we get the ball?

Fox lacked quality but was defensively sound. If we’re persisting with wing-backs I’d rather see McClean or Tymon.
Mikel was a bit rusty early on but grew into the game. No worries about him at all.
Fletcher looked decent and will surely be our first choice striker when fully fit. Much more mobile than Vokes hold the ball better.
Brown looked lively. Very harsh to be booked for diving after being clattered. Was impressed with his first touch.

Brown will probably start ahead of Campbell next game.
Campbell has some good moments today, but his link up play and first touch was poor. Needs to improve.

I thought it was great to see a proper left back - no need for a defensive player in front of him and Fox looked more than decent. Very impressed.
JOM has the happy knack of watching team mates tackle then picking up the loose ball and was always available for a pass. Nothing spectacular on the ball

JOM = quality and I thought his influence on the midfield in the first half was telling, just faded 2nd half
Fox = Marc Wilson clone to me. Poor distribution and dozy on the ball. Ok defensively but we need a decent wing back in this system.
Fletcher - looks class, handful for defences, hope he can stay fit. much more mobile and skilful than Vokes.
Brown - really impressed with him tbh. Ive heard very good things from Barnsley connections. Very lively but let's see what he does with more time on the pitch.

Fox- defensively more solid than McClean but not as good going forward. Think he'll play when we're likely to be doing some defending and McClean may appear more in home games.
JOM- Looked a bit short of pace at times, but he did exactly what you'd want him to do in that role. Sat deep, shielded the defence, kept it simple with the ball.
Fletcher- Proper target man. Will forge ahead of Vokes in the pecking order sooner rather than later.
Brown- Quick and lively. Like the look of him.

Fletcher and Brown will both start the next game, both looked quality. Fletcher looks fitter and stronger than he did ten years ago.
It was good to see us look like a professional outfit on the first day of the season

Mikel, OK, but nothing more. Positionaly OK, but not too impressed by how he receieved the ball, way too heavy touches time after time. I'd say 6/10 today. Fox, Steady Eddie, very solid defensively, but not much magic going forward.7/10 Fletcher, not too long on the pitch, but you can see there is quality in him. 7/10 Brown, looked very lively. Think he'll be a very good addition. Difficult to rate him after just a few minutes, but think he deserves 7/10 too!

On the evidence of the minutes they played Mikel 6 Fox 6 Fletcher 7 Brown 7 Special mention for Adam Davies who helped instil confidence in the defence who looked a lot more secure than when Jack was custodian.

They all look like they'll add to our side and that is a huge bonus. I wouldn't get too hung up on scoring them yet.
JOM is a class act though. Plays the game at his pace. Reads the game brilliantly.

He did look quick. I would be interested to know his sprint figures as I would look fast amongst the normal lumbering meandering we are used to.

Very happy with the new starters . Mikel was a bit slow off the mark and needs game time but you can tell there us quality there when a player appears to have time.

Fox got involved not too bad at all Mikkel looked good and you could see his obvious class from the warm up onwards Fletcher was a bit of a handful and created more than Vokes or Campbell. Brown looked lively too All in all 4 good signings 👍

I think the Fletcher, Brown pairing looked good. Fletcher is an intelligent and clever player - light years ahead of Vokes. Brown certainly looks eager and had pace to spare. Looked like a penno to me - certainly not a yellow? Whether Brown's future is as a wing back, a winger or a striker I don't know but he looks good.
Mikel looks kike what he is - a gifted, experienced, player who is still a bit ring rusty after not having played since late winter. I'm sure he'll do well for us.
Fox looks more of a full back than a wing back to me - Tymon looks more like a wing back based on his latest displays.

I thought Mikel was awful first half, rusty maybe, but if Cousins or Thompson had performed like that they would have been slaughtered...

Fletcher and Brown both very promising for me. 8 each. JOM 4. I'm not sure he finished his warmup Fox. Also 4. I'm probably overly nostalgic but wasn't there a time when new signings all seemed to add something special? So 2 out of 4 and let's get Joe and James back asap.

From what I've heard Brown does a very passable Ronnie Corbett.

Thought they were all decent and added something.
Probably biggest standout was Fletcher, just wished he was 10 years younger..

Mikel - Steady - will get much better and become a key part of the team Fox - Steady - Solid defensively, not enough going forward Fletcher - hope he is fully fit soon Brown - looked lively and hopefully will be a starter soon.
A spine of Davies - Chester - Mikel - Fletcher is pretty decent once all are fit.
Weakest link in whole team for me in the 3-5-2 is Indi (Millwall were exploiting that all game) and how isolated it makes Powell.
Good result though. Looks like players are fit in any case.

JoM: 6 Looked rusty at times but will improve. Always available and plays the game simply. A good foil for Clucas and Powell.
Brown: 6 Looked pacy and energetic if a little raw.
Fletcher:7 Amazed to see a Stoke centre forward with such a good first touch and vision.
Fox : 6 steady Eddie Think some are being a little harsh. He was up against one of the better wingers in the league and had to concentrate on defending, which he did well

And yeah I know he’s played one game etc but it’s exactly what the nicer comments from Sheffield Wednesday fans suggested. Nowt wrong with that either but it can be frustrating if it fucks up good situations.

Let's see how he does when not facing one of the better players in the division Why maybe? Fans who have watched a lot of him and liked him said he was limited with the ball. Charlton fans couldn’t stand him? As I said there’s nowt wrong with him being dodgy on the ball if he’s good defensively. Because that’s better than any other option we have there. But it seems pretty nailed on that he’s not the best with the ball. From history and the games he’s played with us so far. McClean shouldn’t be used as wing back at all imo. Left wing or nothing.

All look improvements to me on limited evidence. Fox just simply because he's a left footed full back. Mikel is obviously not fully fit and thought he was poor first half,he's finally the Whelan replacement we've been waiting for. Fletcher, handful and a touch of class, will be a big hit. Brown, will be a nuisance, similar to Johnny Walters, potential to be better than him, very impressed.

Maybe is because I've barely seen him play for Stoke and isn't a player I'd formed an opinion if before we'd signed him. Tachyon put some stats up showing he was getting good early crosses in (mostly to Fletcher) last season. Want to see what he's like going forward when he's not faced with a tough opponent.
