Starts tonight with the 1st game, extra preliminary round, but most fixtures are tomorrow night. Nearest club to me playing in it is 1874 Northwich and they have sold all 300 allowed tickets. Will Ricardo Fuller makes his debut for Hanley tomorrow night at home v Lye town ? Many locals popping down to see it just in case ? www.thefa.com/competitions/thefacup/fixtures

Good old fashioned non league games are the best.

Burton Park Wanderers' FA Cup debut at home to AFC Sudbury will be broadcast live on the BBC Sport website, iPlayer and Red Button on Tuesday, 1 September.
Really pleased to see BBC covering these games. Welcome boost for the clubs concerned.

Really pleased to see BBC covering these games. Welcome boost for the clubs concerned. I am a huge critic of the BBC (remotely from the USA ). Old Auntie has declined rapidly over the last few years, even the Radio stations 5 and 4 are now so left wing and woke that I struggle to listen without my BP rising. But credit where its due and their screening/streaming of non league games is to be applauded. I am an avid follower of the NWCL (because of my connection with Whitchurch Alport) and good to see they are also streaming Maine Road v Squires Gate two NWCL clubs. I really hope that while fans are not allowed into top level football they go and check out their local non-league club. I promise you it will be an enjoyable experience.

I'm glad we agree on something with non league. While I respect your opinion we will beg to differ on the BBC (I find it extremely conservative...but for all its faults an incredible resource and an institution that will be missed badly when it is finally killed off by the corporate right) but let's end that one there and just enjoy the football together! That's something to enjoy about this board, people who have very different views on society/life being able to share their appreciations of other aspects of life respectfully.

Squires Gate Main Road via BBC. Fair play to them for showing these games. Anything to benefit non league.

FA Cup Prize Money Fact
More prize money will be handed out to the 3 (most likely Premier League) sides for LOSING in the last 4 of the competition than to the 613 non-league clubs who will most likely be knocked out in the qualifying rounds.
(I love a good moan!)
it's great to see a game on TV with a crowd, albeit modest, though it's a bit of a one sided game.

1874 Northwich got stuffed 6-1 at home by Warrington Ryland's, a team in the same division, but have risen quite quickly. Apparently they are now owned by Wayne Rooneys agent and have a Ā£50k playing budget for the North West counties premier division

I went last night and was stood near Ric second half, about half way through some total halfwit, obviously coked off his head came shouting at him calling him a fraudulent @@@@@@ I looked for a copper but none around. These are the kind of morons associating themselves with our club now, I seriously worry about society in these dark times.

I'm surprised others didn't put the guy in his place. Ive probably been to about 150 non-league games (mostly in Derbyshire and Yorkshire area) Ive come across a couple of irritating people at most, but never any trouble, I wouldn't even class them as semi-morons.

There were a lot of the young ones up there who are Stoke fans ( as such ) the ones who throw the beer around at half time. I wish there had been police up there because I would of notified them and would have been prepared to testify against him, I was disgusted.

Ive never seen police at a non-league game tbh, clubs usually have a few stewards on duty.

I think Hanley Town are starting to attract a lot of interest locally They will also attract a number of "Lads" given the rise and popularity of none league. The City needs a proper non league to follow. Am all for it

Worcester V Stafford might be worth a mooch over at the new home of Worcester City....Claines Lane (Tiny beyond belief.....but at least Worcester have returned to Worcester somehow!) is it all ready now? It must be ready in a reduced capacity Northy....the next home game is tomorrow night against Romulus & its all ticket due to current restrictions. Wether that is the ground not being near to fully operational or Covid Im not sure. Worcestershire FA are based at Claines Lane, and the ground/area is very very small. Such a shame as the Club have had numerous plans for grounds rejected by the City council, yet a plan for a new hockey centre gets the nod no problem....Politics eh?
