My kids went there just a couple of weeks ago (when it was boiling hot) and absolutely loved it.
They had one of those inflatable obtacle courses on the lake, plus it seemed to be a place that loads of other kids their ages hang out too. Looked pretty damn good to be fair
We’ve just acquired a stand up paddle board for that lake I only saw it all briefly (as i went to pick them up after they'd been with their mum and stepdad) but looks great and i'd never even heard of it before and it's only 20 minutes up the road. Do you have to get licenses/permits etc. for that kinda stuff? May invest in that kinda thing myself

cracking cafe as well, especially in winter after a parkrun and the fire is going Always nice to know there's somewhere for me to go to relax then. Get the feeling the kids won't want me hanging around them too much! Definitely going to have to go for a day out with a few mates actually....well done OP for starting this thread btw. Given us all some ideas.

The cheap Chinese ones seems ok my mate got one. I used a guy in Tenby who relocated from Drayton. However if you can get them when in stock the decathlon blow up boards and kayaks have very good reputations for good value

For those with younger kids keep an eye out for Vue Mini Mornings.
My daughter is off to the cinema tomorrow to watch the 'Snow Queen' it is an early viewing at 11.15am but the cost is £2.49 per ticket.
Nice cheap cinema visit which always helps in run up to Christmas/End of school holidays etc...

This is probably more suited to younger children, but when I was still a Chief Gruppenführer in the Cubs I hired a coach and took them for a day out at Chester Zoo - it was the best day out ever! Blackpool Zoo is outstanding these days. Taken my 4 year old twice in the last year witg a 3rd trip planned for the illuminations. Compact, bonus dinosaur section, easy to access and loads of animals (by which I mean everything you could want besides a Rhino) Oh yes, that reminds me, R&W - took them to Blackpool seaside for the day once, too! No doubt for the hallucinations!

Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker in Cheshire is worth a visit. My two lads are generally unimpressed with everything if it's not football related, but they absolutely loved it.....

My two and their two mates enjoyed it as well. This is the one they thought was fantastic and they went back a few times. The last time they were 16 with a group of mates on a drop off and pick up arrangement www.crockytrail.co.uk/
