Much of the media don't seem to have a clue outside of the elite, but I don't think Lineker is one of those people.

Looking at the 2004 semi, the crying shame is one player who could have made a massive difference to us staying up played in that, but had been shipped out

I read your reply as being about Lineker's reply to the semi-final stat, rather than the replies to Lineker's Tweet. Some of those replies are pretty funny, like the one saying it shows the gentrification of Stoke's team. They must think we're still in the Premier League, as that kind of "gentrification" certainly hasn't been happening for a while. |
