We've got a pretty decent cinema in our town which of course has been shut since March. Starting this weekend though they've got a licence to use a field five miles out of town for a drive-in set up. It's a decent site as it's usually used for the annual village show. Judging by the local response it's going to be pretty busy. Got to give it a go just for the hell of it!.

They have to charge for confectionary. It’s where most of the profits come from, in fairness.

Never been a cinema fan but once took a gal to see 'Meet the Feebles' in a small cinema in Toronto.
We were the only 2 in there as another couple left as were a bit disgusted I guess. Anyway we decided to make the most it and erm....well you know.
if anyone has seen Meet The Feebles can they let me know how it ends

Eventually, I went over to to him and asked him what he was there to see - 102 Dalmatians. He quickly grabbed his kids and left with a sheepish thanks

Quality film, and an interesting choice to take a lady friend to see. Did you do the old popcorn bucket with a hole in the bottom trick ? ;-)
Shan't spoil it by telling you the ending, other than to say it was in keeping with other early Peter Jackson films (Bad Taste, Braindead), and you definitely need to watch the whole thing.

We're talking a lady friend here who looked like Suzi Quatro and had Driller Killer and Snuff amongst her video collection. Trust me, popcorn wasn't needed Like myself a bit of a gore and Grindhouse Film fan. The whole film is on You Tube have just looked. Bad Taste, what a great film. We went to a Russ Meyer film marathon once and all nighter Omen and Hellraiser back to back showings. Woody Allen's Zelig, Bananas and Sleeper back to back was a great watch.

I can remember when there were 6 cinemas in 'Castle.
The Rex and Rio, ABC Savoy Roxy, Chesterton had one, and The Marshlands (bug hut) in Wolstanton.
I used to go to the ABC club on a Saturday morning as a nipper in the 50s with my big brother. We had a day off school to go and see the coronation film report.

Went to the a pre-premiere showing of Hellbound: Hellraiser II with Tony Randel doing Q&A's. Bit disappointed by it, tbh.
I'm a big fan of schlock horror. Think my favourite of all time, being an ex-tenpin bowler, is The Imp. Or, as per the US release title, Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. You can't go wrong with a title like that.
Suzi Quatro? Now you're talking. My first crush (along with Susan Stranks). About 5 years ago Mrs Q & I were following her through airport security. She dressed in obligatory suede fringed jacket & tight black leather trousers. View from the front was pleasant enough, view from the rear was unbelievably good. She had about 10 cigarette lighters on her & the security bottom inspectors not only wouldn't let her through with them, they confiscated them all & wouldn't even let her take one through. Mrs Q & I followed her to the smoking area, gave her a cheapo disposable lighter to keep & she thanked us. In amongst some choice words about what she thought about airport security.

She really was hot. Used to drop into a pub near MSG in NYC called The Quiet Man. Good decor. Also been to Pat Cohans in Cong.

I've not seen Bananas, but those other two are fantastic. Zelig is possibly my favourite Woody Allen film, closely followed by Broadway Danny Rose.

You don’t have to buy over priced tat. It’s not a condition of entry. Plus there are no controls that stops you bringing in your sweeties from b&m (or any other outlet). Unlike festivals...
