If we carry on with the form of the past 31 games I expect top 6 finish, at least.

The championship looks weak compared to the season just gone I can’t see Wycombe, Rochdale or Coventry getting much change at all next season.
Birmingham, Sheffield Wednesday and derby don’t look too good in regards to points being deducted and surely won’t spend very much in the transfer window.
Forrest have had a decent season but with the heartbreak of Wednesday night I think they will be down in the dumps for a while.
If villa come down they will be right up there and so will Bournemouth Norwich will struggle.
Let’s see what the transfer window brings hopefully we have a more balanced team next season

Seven weeks. Enough time for ..... McLean to practice kicking with his right foot; Shawcross, Verlinden and Allen to be 100% fit again; MON to assess and/or promote the youngsters/reserves; OKey-Booth to watch videos of how Matheus Pereira plays; Tyrell to beef up a bit more; Clucas? if this headless chook gets a bigger brain, he would be a superstar; N'goy? (come out, wherever you are). Tyrell?

If we get a decent left back, centre half and defensive mid we'll do very well. Our problems not scoring goals its giving away soft goals normally at times that absolutely kill us.
Improving the defence will help our away form no end.
As for the others it'll be the usual suspects

For the first time in this league we have the genuine potential to be right up there.
Personally I feel we will need a season of rebuilding first, and that we will finish top half. We may scrape the playoffs but I doubt it. The following season could be our year.
We all know how fragile any such hopes are, of course. It could just as easily all go titsup.com.

Losing Wigan for Barnsley is good and if 2 from brum weds and derby go instead of Charlton and hull even better unlikely I know but we would never get a better chance of going up coymp One thing I would love to happen again is for us to be able to actually attend the match at Barnsley next season and see some of our fans doing the conga again. www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-fans-conga-barnsley-3520616Stoke City fans do the conga at Barnsley as Michael O'Neill ends 88-game wait for three goals - then gets four!

Impossible to predict this league, which means that this thread could go on until the end of next season. But I do think we’ll do a lot better and am expecting the playoffs. Pleased to see Coventry back up the leagues again, after all the crap they’ve been through.

Stoke will probably struggle to achieve the Play Offs next season. The squads of other clubs (Bournemouth, Watford, Fulham, Brentford, Derby and Cardiff, Norwich and Forest) will all be a force to be reckoned with. Unless we bring in substantial quality to improve our squad then I see another underwhelming season. Don’t be fooled by our strong finish to the season. We will not be “Top Dogs” unless we have a very strong transfer window. I do like this Manager though and hope the Board back him.

I dont think we will be top 6. I think we are deluded if we think that. We have had 2 seasons of utter dross, it will take a short while now we have the right man. If we are top 10, I would be very pleased with that as its good progress

If bournemouth keep eddie howe and their squad together, they will take some stopping. Naah, their return to their natural habitat in the lower leagues starts Sunday.

We are. We should change our name to Big Time Stoke City as we breeze through this tinpot league.
I refuse to let my completely baseless optimism for the season ahead be dulled, and will be infuriated by our ultimate failure all the more so for having raised expectations so much.

He has now some time on his hands a couple of players to strengthen, look at the players coming back off loan. So with all the benefits our form has to fall off a cliff or we are ...Deluded.

Top 2 will be between Norwich, Fulham/Brentford and The Mighty Potters. The rest are dross. I'll be wiring into the Forest bottom half finish market if it's available, even more so if they keep Lamouchi. Im not so sure about Norwich. They have only won 7 of their last 43 League games. That have lost their last 10 games only scoring two goals....that is likely to be 11 after Man City. Their last win was in February. That is some rut to get out of. They'll lose players too I think. I think Norwich are likely to struggle too. Surely Pukki will be off, and his goals are the main reason Norwich were promoted. He's scored 11 of Norwich's 26 Premier League goals this season, so would look like a good signing for many Premier League clubs. Only 26 goals in 37 games. Yikes!

If bournemouth keep eddie howe and their squad together, they will take some stopping. I think you will see a lot of players either jumping or being pushed from a sinking Bournemouth ship, they spent big on players and will attract little income from attendance revenue that even with the parachute payments they are going to be a future problem with the FFP board. The team with the real financial clout are Norwich, they spent little whilst in the Premiership and must have banked a fortune, plus they also have the parachute payments to look forward to, this is exactly what Burnley did.

Burnley put up a fight though Norwich have just been atrocious Granted Norwich have been a total embarrassment for a promoted championship team but financially it’s been the perfect storm, gain promotion before schedule, spend little on transfers and wages, bank all that lovely prem dosh and then gain even more money for getting relegated- off the pitch it’s been football heaven.

So my hunch that Villa would stay up is confirmed. Watford are a funny club but I think they'll do well. Norwich and Bournemouth might struggle. Hope so.
On to the playoffs. I would suggest Fulham are going to do it.

Promotion:The 3 unlucky playoff teams and the 3 relegated prem teams plus Forest and Millwall Mid-Table / Top-Half:
Preston Derby Blackburn Bristol Stoke Reading Safe / Bottom HalfQPR Boro Wednesday Relegation:Brum Luton Huddersfield Barnsley Wycombe Coventry Rotherham Don't disagree with that, would maybe swap Millwall and Derby and Reading with either Boro or QPR (fancy them to be dark horses) If we could finish top of that group in upper mid-table with the rebuild underway and maybe a bonus mini cup run, I would class that a successful season.

If we are top 10, I would be very pleased with that as its good progress M We need to change our “ underdog “ mentality in this division It worked in the Premiership but we need a very different approach to expect to win A good start is vital And a top 10 finish is realistic We need to retain Campbell, Powell, Clucas, Verlinden, McLean, Collins, Davies and Allen and of course our manager imo Some of the more experienced players need to hang around too Some high earners definitely need to be sold (if possible ) MON will know which youngsters are ready to be in and around the first team squad Hope Tymon gets a chance
