Here in the UK the world is a different place than when the virus first took hold. We've learned so much about how it spreads and what are the greatest risks. This shit is deadly in confined spaces and with old or vulnerable people. Of course we all have to take sensible precautions but L'pool and Leeds fans celebrating in the streets is very low risk, no more than it was when people lined the streets for Big Jack's funeral. So I have no problem with either set of fans letting off steam.

The fans in Liverpool showing why the season should have been null and voided. As I and many predicted their fans couldn’t help themselves in relation to coming to Anfield on mass and celebrating on mass with no consideration for social distancing or those around them at risk of Covid. No doubt they’ll still be still depicted as those loveable scousers. If Merseyside has a spike in a couple of weeks we’ll all know why. They were all out on the streets when they won the league on 25th June. There hasn't been a spike in cases in Liverpool since then just like there hasn't been major increases in cases in any other places where there have been other big (outdoor) gatherings. That's because the spike was stolen before it could manifest itself, along with a set of hub caps from Peter Reid's 1986 Ford Capri.
