I don't really care about him either way now, to be honest. He wasn't a good fit.
Our change of fortune since he left is more of a testament to MON's abilities than Jones' inability.

He did nearly wreck us and I did feel a bit of a mug eventually for backing him. But I don't reckon he was here with any ill intent. He was badly out of his depth in hindsight and also dealing with a lot of problems that the senior management had allowed to fester inside the club. Problems that are still here inside the club. He tried but ultimately failed very badly. Yes, I agree with this and the contempt shown for him in this thread is quite unfair. It's not like he's a Quiterill who left us high and dry, or Rowett with his smirk. Us fans need to get a grip. NJ was a passionate but very deluded MAN, who bathed in his own misplaced sense of delusion, but his enthusiasm was so infectious that in some ways you can't blame the Board for lapping it up, cos we did too. I thank the Lord he is no longer our manager, but I hope he learns from his mistakes and gets Luton promoted back to the Championship. Hopefully he will get them relegated to non league asap, I never felt he had the right credentials to take over the mess we were in after Rowetts departure, he talked about diamonds, fast attacking football, young hungry athletic players and gave us Sam Vokes £9m, Batth then compounded it with the likes of Stephen Ward, Jordan Cousins, Tommy Smith, Lindsey, Hogan etc., James McClean as a LWB, the man is a total and utter clueless fraud.

He tried. He was like a bedroom DJ who was given access to the decks at Cream and turned up with a cassette of Neil Diamond songs.
Thankfully for him (and us), he's now back in his bedroom with the occasional 'nappy night' at the local youth club for him to strut his funky stuff at.

You nearly wrecked our great club. Hopefully you get your just desserts and go down this afternoon He didn’t do it on his own. He got plenty of help from lots of other people. Personally I wish him no ill will. Impossible to hate Nath. I just don’t think he had the respect of the players. Too young to earn the respect of a bunch of veterans? Probably.

A footballing pygmy, whoever interviewed him must have been pissed not to see through his bullshit, he did a massive amount of damage to the Club I suppose that is what you get when you employ managers on the recommendation of a bloke down the pub you sacked from his job at Bet365

I was so deluded with Stoke at the time I jumped aboard his hype train because it gave me something to get behind. I was gutted it didn't work out for him. But ultimately he was out of his depth. And your theory is probably partly correct. But it does show we have possibly found a gem in MON. With all the stuff going on in the background that NJ was unable to deal with, MON has done so with real class. Very excited about next season now to see what MON can achieve going forward.

"People keep going on about the diamond, let me tell you Nige, the diamond is a wonderful wonderful shape" .. that quote always sticks in my mind, bonkers man. Don’t judge me on this season, judge me on next season. How convenient eh?

I do remember we became even shitter after we appointed him, if he had been in charge all of last season he would have almost certainly relegated us he should have been axed at the end of last season a total failure on every level.

Hopefully they win and then on the last day they're relegated after today's false hope!

What it does prove that it seems we have some big ego's at our club and Rowett and him were not strong enough managers to deal with them which goes to show just how good MON is and hopefully a lot of those ego's will be gone next season.

He was the worst manager we’ve ever had - based on factors.
And for people who say he was a nice guy, he’s absolutely not. He is like Cotterill, an absolutely horrible bloke. All about himself, used to send the players out saying “do it for me” (take it or leave it).
A hateful man who didn’t mean to be as shite as he was - but to this day won’t blame himself.

He could become Pope, win the Euro millions and move in with Penelope Cruz and Shakira for all I care
As long as he's out of our club

- I’m glad he left our club.
- He’s done a superb job at Luton since he went back.
Not everything’s black and white, there’s clearly a good manager there that for whatever reasons appeared out of his depth at Stoke. The moment he pinned his hopes on the diamond he’d talked up so much, then didn’t recruit for it he was a dead man walking.....

Absolutely true mate - I’m fortunate to have very close links to the local press and therefore the dressing room (I’m not ITK on anything transfers etc) - and it was always ALL about himself. Players would be bemused about how highly he put himself (above the club) when he was handing out any motivation. Quite quite bizarre.

The club had put the picture of his chest beating after match up in one of the hallways. Bet he loved seeing that.
