Jones thought James McLean could be converted into a left back so it's perfectly conceivable that he also thought that Ward could be rejuvenated into something pacey and dynamic🙄 Well...O'Neill seems prepared to go down that road as well, albeit as lwb. But if Bruno falls ill tonight and Tymon gets himself sent off, it will be a bit premature to have let Ward go. Really? I bet I could manage at left back better than Ward and I'm 67!! 😜 |

And who would you have in midfield then? Some kid who's never played 90 minutes before; that is the option. |

The options would be play wing backs with MacLean as LWB, play Chester there (he's played there in his career) or play Smith there with Collins as RB Or play Corrigan Not great is it? Clucas would be good at LB (or LWB) but we need him in midfield more For god's sake Stoke sign some left backs |

We may like to but there's no guarantee or even likelihood that mister super leftback will join us before next season. 'He won't be missed' is correct as he's rarely been used. It's hardly a disgusting comment. |
