Watching that game at the end, I found myself thinking (not for the first time), "Why do I care about this crap? Isn't it time I grew out of it?"

Only saw last 20 mins. Looked like a bit of a shambles, but we battled for a point.

Davies clearly isn’t the answer long term. I think you may be right, but it would only be fair to highlight that's his 3rd competitive game in over a year, as well as not that many non-competitive ones either...... It was and he does bad things we know he does. We need better. Butland does his Hokey Cokey routine for crosses and as Dave says he’s slaughtered.

Well I’d have taken a point before the game, so can’t grumble. Could’ve done without Swansea beating Forest, but I think we’ll be okay. God willing. Swansea havent beaten them, its not over yet and its 2-2

Yet if Butland has made the little errors he made, he'd be slaughtered. Should have caught a straightforward cross, didn't come for it, put us under pressure. Kicked to no-one from back passes and out of hand and kicked 2 directly into touch under no pressure whatsoever. Conceded from their only shot on target. Butland does those things and makes 1 good save in a 1-1 draw and he gets slaughtered. Let it go, butland is shite and we would have lost at least three nil if he had been playing, You have been blowing butland up for years but he is shite. Stop being silly and let it go What you talking about? Butland has been terrible and is lucky not to have been dropped long before now.

Good point. Happy with that. Davies again solid think we’ve got a decent keeper. Fought hard and were the better team till the last 15 mins. Indi is a liability at LB they were clearly targeting him and he was all over the shop. Thought the CBs were better today. Powell oozes class and we don’t look the same when he’s not on the pitch. Yet if Butland has made the little errors he made, he'd be slaughtered. Should have caught a straightforward cross, didn't come for it, put us under pressure. You are not very happy tonight Dave, Davies copping it, Campbell getting it- I think the 4 or 5 week break before next season starts ( or however long it is) will do you good to reset and get ready for next season’s rollercoaster. I’d think that point will keep us up.

Shows what can be achieved in this division when you battle and scrap. How we limited them to 2 chances with that back 5 is still beyond me. Shows how bad they are as well I guess. EDIT - and I've said Davies did well. More pointing out that his little errors are overlooked whereas with Butland they are micro-analysed. You noticed his "okey cokey" coming out routine? He came and retreated for about 5 crosses today but because he came for a couple, most go nuts over him. Delighted with the point, hope its enough to see us safe. Glad to see the back of this season and hopefully the bulk of this team.

We just don't have the quality of players to see games out, we just hoof it and invite more pressure. When we are chasing the game we never look as dangerous as other teams fo against us.

The only thing that's certain is we'll finish neither 24th nor 23rd. As for 22nd there's still eight teams that could land there, and we're one of them. All sorts of things could happen. Not a chance, there's too many teams below us and our goal difference is worth an extra point. Don't take the excitement out of the last two games...if, say, Luton, win both their games, they'll end up with 51 pts.

It's a good point but I didn't like the way we played after we brought off Powell. Inviting pressure. We got away with it tbh. We completely bossed the second half until we took Powell off and then it was us getting bossed for the rest of the game. If Powell wasn’t injured that was a really poor decision and could have easily cost us the game. It's probably worth it if we have a 90% fit Powell for our next game.

Most of them are on decent contracts with a few seasons left on the clock. Unless I'm wrong and please correct me if I am. Butland, Powell, Campbell and Ince could possibly attract interest if they were made available.

I think so. What I meant was that he probably comes into the saleable category.. Purely because of his past performances in the championship. Perhaps somebody like a relegated Bouremouth.

The major concern for me is that our players think the season is over and Bristol players have illusions of snatching a play-off place by continuing their winning streak. But Bristol are not particularly good at scoring or defending, they restarted the season after shut down pretty badly with 4 losses, and have just had 2 wins against very poor sides. Their confidence will be boosted but they are still a very average side in all respects. We have demonstrated we can defend well, but have a problem concentrating for 90 minutes and at least one or two of our defenders will do something rash or go to sleep at some time. Nevertheless we should keep them down to 1 or at most 2 goals. The question is can we hit them on the break and score a couple ourselves? I would go with virtually our regular team, leaving out Chester who is incapable of playing 2 games without giving a goal to the opposition. Certainly without Ince, but I am in a quandary over Butland. Well the players didn't play like they thought it was done. Your assessment of Bristol City was spot on
