I was hoping this would be his next move. I recall you saying that - or Man City. So, looks like Madrid. Why were you hoping he’d go there? He was hoping Man City really as he’s a Man City fan😉

Looks like he's Real Madrid-bound. Rumoured to be between 100m-120m euros Deserves the move but what youngsters not in their prime and only going to get better. So scary real in that respect just win dortmund a title first.

It's no coincidence that Croatia often do well in tournaments with a good proportion of their team playing in the top European leagues.

I wasn’t sure what to make of Bellingham originally. I don’t watch kids football and he never stood out in the two(?) games he played versus us.
However, Dortmund don’t spend decent money on young players unless they have very good ideas that they will make it.
The German league looks like an excellent place to develop talent. It’s a shame that more English players don’t take the risk to go over there rather than sit in Man City reserves.

If he maintain’s his fitness levels throughout his career he’ll leave Shilton’s caps record well behind, if Sterling doesn’t beat it first.

I never got the stick he got after our game in lockdown. You could see his quality and you could see that he was down on his haunches because of the shit he was playing with and against.
Always destined for the big time. Quality, quality footballer and from how it seems in the media, quality human too.

He gets over 150 caps on my FM career as he remains good enough until his mid 30s. I do think he’s underrated as an England player. But with the mess Chelsea are in and players like Willock making a better argument for inclusion in the squad at the moment I don’t think he’ll get another 44 caps, but he could do. 82 in ten years, could play at that level for another five at least as he’s only 28.

The more English players playing abroad the better. Ok. You don’t think English players playing abroad will have a positive impact on the England national team? Because all of the French national team play in France, or Brazilians in Brazil? Of course having players learning different styles and understanding different ways of officiating and such will massively improve our fortunes when you get to the business end of tournaments.

English players should be looking to move imo. The Premier League has had its day imo. I actually think the interest is going to wane in the next 20 years.

Quite right. Living in another country and learning to speak another language can also potentially open a person's mind too.

His brother may be on the move. Is he worth looking at? Seems to be more of a defensive mid?

First time I’ve ever read this thread, I hope some people are eating humble pie right now. Christ. In fairness, most (including myself) were basing their opinion of him on his game against us vs Brum. In that game he did hardly anything of note bar flapping his arms and shouting at his teammates when things didn't go his way. I don't think many (if they're being honest) would have been able to predict the heights he has reached right now. I'll admit, I have been very impressed with his games for England. I don't think humble pie is in order, as in that game mentioned, he was gash.

Honestly, it may be kind of silly but I’ve always thought that our language represents a challenge as well. How many players speak a second language? Communication on the pitch is quite important and when one-side understands nothing of what the other is on about, surely that gives the other a little bit of an extra chance? Is it enough to decide a game, likely not, but I do think it may play some minor role.

Nah, humble pie in still in order for some. “Another Ravel Morrison” ….. “Another Jack Rodwell” and other silly comments based off one game.

How nice it is to have:
a) the best English players courted by elite foreign teams
b) English players receptive to improving by playing abroad.
