What is going on in this country?! We've obviously got the incident in Reading, apparently whatever has gone on in Glasgow today has involved someone getting stabbed, then I've just been gandering through Twitter...

When I say hard labour there's millions of pot holes lurking about on British roads

If there is not enough room in prison
Then I'm sure we could knock a few basic ones up without amenities
Something along the lines of the stalag camps in world war two

The positive is that our gun laws are so stringent that at least we're talking about random stabbings and not mass shootings. That said it's deeply troubling that the knife is the next weapon of choice, I'm not a wallflower and want my kids to grow up and have their independence but I'd be lying if I said it didn't trouble me, especially teenage lads/youths who seem to be the main instigators/targets. There was a targeted approach in Glasgow that worked well, I wonder whether that was ever rolled out to the rest of the UK?

We don’t agree very much as you know but that’s a massive kop out on BJs part when the majority of the people attending aren’t from the borough.
If it was locals causing the problems the issues would be nowhere near as big.

If you want to get technical the beach is a local authority owned beach and like it or not they are responsible for it and that goes for who goes on it. They could not cope and the Police were in attendance but by that time it was too late. They knew it was going to be warm but they did not prepare or plan anything SCFC are responsible for their crowds in attendance it's no different.

I agree entirely with your sentiments,And we do need watertight conditions to control knife possession.

I can just see problems with applying the law and the principle of " reasonable doubt"....I bought it because I needed a kitchen knife. The old lady who actually did buy one.

There was a clear pic. of some savage wielding a sword when the animals were attacking the Police in Brixton, why was he not tasered or as you say shot carrying a deadly weapon on the streets should have a severe punishment.

From the video I'm not even convinced that the officer had his knee on his neck. It looked more like he had his hand supporting his head.

There is a need to fight racism one hundred percent but this sort of reporting will create an even bigger divide.

I remember when I was a paperboy back round 2001 one of the papers had a big headline about the wave of knife crime and some picture of a bobby next to some log they'd rammed hundreds of confiscated knives into.

Looks like there was a wave that peaked round 2007, went away and is coming back. Wonder what's going on?

As much as I hate to say this and it goes against the grain but two things the Federation should start ripping into these wet arses and cops should start to refuse to take risks and use force to effect arrests. Then see what the "bosses" think. Failing that then a bout of blue flu should be incoming, people hate cops so let's see how they go on when none turn up.

I wouldn’t go that far but how more gentle can a restraint be. Clearly what they did do didn’t even injure him so it couldn’t have been that heavy handed.
I love the way his solicitor said he only had the knife to repair his bike. What do they take us for? The sad thing is there’ll be people who want to believe that to fit their agenda.
It’s another incident where the Police need to release the bodycam if he’s charged so the public can see the whole picture of the incident and not just a very one sided one.
