And to think that MON actually gets paid to put that shower of shit together for two weeks running is an absolute travesty, another crock of shit manager who doesn’t know his head from his arse. Give the guy a break - he walked into a shower of shit made up of turgid leftovers assembles by messrs Jones, Rowett, Lambert and Hughes. Yes, his decision-making the last 2 games (such as playing Collins at right-back last week, changing our shape when we had them on the ropes, and sticking with James Fucking Chester) beggar belief, but hes managed to drag our group of over-paid mercenaries and bottlers into a half coherent unit (last 2 games not permitting) and to a position where we at least have a realistic chance of still staying up - we would have taken being 20th and a point above 22nd with 7 games left back in November. Yes today in particular was infuriating, but we need to pray that we will get a reaction on Tuesday (actually think that nicking a point at Reading covered up a few glaring weaknesses to be honest) He's taken over a shit shower and made them credible. Under Jones we'd already be mathematically down. Biggest concern for me is his (limited) recruitment to date. Neither Chester nor Thompson are any improvement on what we had and arguably weaken the team (I leave Oakley-Boothe out of the equation as he's a development signing).

At the moment...we're not even in the bottom three. Give it a couple of games. A couple of games could go either way with our fate still very much in our hands. I remain critical yet optimistic.

The thought that Coventry ( no ground); charrlton (67 mill ) in debt, and hull reserves, and a team managed by Nathan jones may be a league above us saddens me but it is no longer an outrageous thought I can't stop reading your post over and again whilst at the same time thinking about the 70 odd million plus that we've spent (plus god knows what on managers and coaches) to potentially achieve it. It would have to go down as one of the most spectacular failures in English football should we manage to get ourselves over the line. Because FFP stifled our ambition, apparently.

Neither Chester nor Lawrence are any improvement on what we had and arguably weaken the team (I leave Oakley-Boothe out of the equation as he's a development signing). The Thompson signing's a worry. I just don't think he's any good. He was an 'OK' player at Blackpool. He may be decent at L1 level. Looking at that side yesterday before the game, it's woeful. As has been said many times, 70% of the squad, if you could, you'd just clear out tomorrow.

Just one positive thing from today's round, it's still in our own hands! And that is an awful thought right now Rob! MON can carry out all the preparation necessary, provide the perfect game plan and provide all the correct motivation but when the players get out there and apply themselves individually and collectively the way they did yesterday, he must privately be holding his head in his hands. Too many of our players lacked the guts, bottle and the balls to compete effectively yesterday. Too many still think we're too good for this league and let us down with their lack of total commitment. Too many of them want to avoid taking responsibility and pass the buck. Too many of them can't even pass the buck accurately. Too many of them play their colleagues into danger. Too many of them are lazy in the way they deal with danger and then deal with it ineffectively. Too many of them are lazy and fail to get around their colleagues and support them. Too many of them are too lazy to provide the movement to open up options for their colleagues. Too many of them are too lazy so they just tip tap across the back four and then give a speculative hoof forward. Too many of them are too slow physically and mentally. Too many times we think a game owes us something rather than going out there and grabbing it by the balls. Too many times we fail to get going until the second half or at least until we have gone a goal down. There are still too many players who are not fit for purpose and are 'cheating' a living from Stoke. There are too many players who lack the required discipline and level of professionalism. There are too many who will just move on afterwards if we go down ........ BUT THIS IS OUR STOKE!!!! NOT YOURS, BECAUSE YOU'VE STILL GOT MUCH TO PROVE BEFORE YOU'RE PART OF THE RED AND WHITE!! Now listen to MON carefully, man up and play with some desire for a full 90 minutes and prove to the supporters that you care as much as we do! GET ON WITH IT. The game owes you nothing but you owe our club and Stoke-on-Trent a great deal. NOW PLAY WITH TOTAL COMMITMENT. DO IT FOR YOUR OWN SELF RESPECT AND SHOW GREATER RESPECT TO THE CLUB AND OUR SUPPORTERS.

They used to use the excuse for their faults on the supporters getting on their back. Yesterday's performance proves that was just an excuse for what they dished up, which is what you've laid bare in your post. They need to man up and stop hiding behind any excuse they can think up. Nothing less than 100% of effort for 100% of the time they're here is acceptable. OS.

So they gave us the ball, knowing we'd do piss-all with it? That makes us very easy to play against for the rest of the season.

I don't buy into all this Warnock did one over on O'Neill bullshit. He simply set his team up to make it difficult for us, we didn't have the desired nous or finishing to put his team to the sword.

Yesterday was a disaster between what happened on the pitch and what happened infront of the press. Warnock showed the rest of the league how to beat us with ease and MON confirmed it, along with blabbing away to the world that his players are mentally weak.

Agree O’Neil gets exposed by his inexperience at this level and it’s not the first time , his transfer window as stated at the time was destined to be a disaster and the loss of Etebo and badou without proper replacement is going to relegate us

As soon as Warnock was appointed by boro I knew we'd be up against it he went into Rotherham a couple of years ago and did a similar job and kept them up whether he pulls it off again remains to be seen but we have two massive games coming up where we must take 4 points at least or we'll find ourselves in deep trouble.

Sure, many of us have exploded with frustration and expletives when we get dished up the abject dross we had to witness on Saturday, but another day gives another chance. Resilience is the key, for the manager, team and supporters. Less perpetual negative tripe would also help.
