It's not mate. I definitely meant to ask that question. So, you definitely meant to ask a fundamentally erroneous question? See, we can all play that game. Go on then, I'll bite... Why was my question 'fundamentally erroneous'?

There’s no denying there are individual racists in this country (as there are in every country) but the fact that Dion Dublin says he was shocked by it suggests it’s not actually that widespread, if it were why would he have been so shocked by it ? He’s a black man who’s been paid thousands to play football and present day time tv shows, if we were a systemically racist country this wouldn’t be possible. As I’ve said in a previous post, we’re not a systemically racist country, imo the left is resurrecting it for political purposes, we don’t need big campaigns like blm, all it’s achieving is to reanimate the divide, but why ? Black people are doing perfectly fine in this country, they have all the same opportunities as white people. I don't know where to start from that last sentence. I can't imagine I'll change your views, but there's a long way to go in terms of equality in the UK. There are loads of independent studies showing how black and non-white people are discriminated against, even unintentionally. If you have a name that doesn't sound British, you're less likely to get a job interview. If you're black you're far more likely to be arrested or stopped and searched. You're more likely to live in a deprived area. Look at how the tabloids treat black footballers compared to white. E.g. Raheem Sterling buys a house for his parents and he's splashing out and showing off, but Phil Foden buys a house for his parents and it's a positive story. The Sun: "STERLING SINKS TO NEW LOW England failure steps off plane and insults fans by showing off blinging house. OBSCENE RAHEEM. But don't worry, £Sterling is on the up!" "PHIL-ING GOOD Phil Foden became a dad at 18 with childhood sweetheart Rebecca Cooke and Man City ace bought a £2m home for his parents" Imagine if that was a black footballer becoming a dad at 18. Look how Lewis Hamilton is treated by large portions of the media - he's possibly the greatest British sportsperson of all-time and would get far more credit if he was white. You'll probably find positive stories in the tabloids about both, but being black has hardly helped them, and it can't be a coincidence they get more negative coverage than white equivalents. The biggest part of the Brexit campaign was about how much better the UK would be without immigration, with constant stories portraying foreign nationalities in a negative light. The fact people are still buying these papers shows racism is rife. Many of the images used supposedly showing immigrants were actually taken in foreign countries. Looking at just one stat from independent studies: UK 2018/19: "37 White people were stopped and searched for every 10,000 White residents, compared to 315 stops for every 10,000 Black people." That's nearly ten times more. www.inyourarea.co.uk/news/black-people-are-being-disproportionately-targeted-by-police/There are things like the MOBO awards because black people generally don't get the recognition elsewhere, in what are usually white dominated awards and industries. If we’re talking about racism on an individual level then we still have pockets of it, no doubt about it, so does the US and most other countries, probably always will, but on a systemic level ? Imo this is just not the case anymore, we’ve made huge strides in the last 20 -30 years and to suggest otherwise is very damaging, but since the left is all out of ideas they’re trying to reignite a war which was won years ago, it won’t work because the majority of people see through it, any sane person not infected by identity politics sees the game that’s being played here, The Right has been disgusting in this matter regarding entire races and nationalities in the Brexit debate, to Windrush, the recourse to no public funds and the health surcharge. Thats before we get in to Law and Order and the Criminal Justice system Thank fuck someone is fighting against this hard right campaign I say. They’re not fighting against anything, they’re using black people as a prop by instilling a Sense of hopelessness in them, it’s disgusting, the left keep losing elections so they’re trying to reignite issues that were long put to bed. Bottom line is the US has a police brutality problem, not just against blacks but against everyone! The UK does not have this problem so what exactly are people protesting against here ? All I hear is anecdotal stories of idiots on the street calling black people names, which is terrible but where are the examples of widespread systemic racism!?!?! ... doesn’t exist!

This utopia you describe simply doesn't exist. I could pluck one from literally thousands of studies and reports so how about this one. If you are Black or Asian in the UK in 2020 you are one and a half times more likely to be sent down for drugs offences than if you are white. Fact. The UK is riddled from earhole to arsehole with racism.

In a sporting sense, taking the knee was started by American Footballer Colin Kaepernick who refused to acknowledge the national anthem in protest against racism and police brutality in the USA. I think the football authorities have taken this on board as a show of solidarity with the many black players (and supporters) we have, even though the UK is a far more tolerant country than the USA. The politicians are a different matter altogether and they're on a sticky wicket if they align themselves too closely with the BLM movement. By doing so, they're acknowledging that we have an out of control Police force which is systematically killing black people and that there is rampant racism throughout society. Our Police are no angels and we do have problems with racism, but we're not in the same league as America and even some European countries. Raab was correct not to get drawn into the argument, but I fear Starmer may live to regret his actions. Regarding policing in other countries a report was published at the start of Mark Ruttes tenure over here a few years ago outlining the disparity of ethnic officers in Holland. This was addressed by a drive to employ more Turkish and Morrocan officers to better engage with the 2 groups, purely for the fact that they are the largest represented non-dutch groups over here. A significant decrease in crime was the result, so going on that basis, ( and if its not been done already) Another concerted effort in recruitment in ethnic groups for policing in the UK might make a difference on 2 fronts: Better engagement with those disenfranchised and aggrieved groups in the UK Better policing methods towards the groups themselves. Food for thought anyway

Hard not to disagree with a lot of that But how do you explain the majority of homeless people on the streets tend to be white males That's an excellent question, so I did a little digging. The stats (for London at least) show that the rate of rough sleepers per head of population is about the same for black people and white people. About 60 per cent of the population of London are white and about 13 per cent are black. About 60 per cent of people sleeping rough in London are white, and about 13 per cent are black. So while yes, you do see more homeless white males that's because there are a lot more white blokes to begin with. Homelessness (at least in London) seems to affect both races equally. www.statista.com/statistics/381386/london-homelessness-rough-sleepers-by-ethnicity/ Have you had these figures supplied by Dianne Abbot....in 2013 the population of London had dropped to 45 % white. This was championed by the BBC at the time.Since 2013 many white families have moved their family units to Kent and Essex. Why dont you take your car around London to understand why some knuckledraggers refer to it as Londonistan

Food for thought anyway Certainly food for thought back in 1981 when the Scarman report, produced following the riots in Brixton that year included this in its recommendations: “The Police operate in a growing multi cultural society and as such the police service should represent that community. Therefore the police need to do more to recruit black people into the service.”

Like I said, one of the reasons it was initially done was in protest at a brutal police force and a Government minister simply can't be demonstrating that he has no faith in his own country's Police force. As a potential future Prime Minister, Starmer should've given it some thought as well.
