Over two games when they tried to play football against Man United last year they lost 5-1 and 6-0 and that was with Keegan, so they are talking out of their arses for me!

The jizzfest for Keegan among the thick is still going I see.
I hope they crash and burn.
At least we are half-expecting it.

Don't let it bother you Kidsgrove. Newcastle Utd is a bitter club with a massive chip on it's shoulder. They ain't won FA since the 50s, have always wasted £millions and are just a mediocre Prem outfit. It's teams like them that we should be turning over next season down The Brit.

Yeah we'll see where their delusion of them being a big club who play nice football gets them next year.
My guess 14th.

I don't think we need a lecture in who does and who doesn't have an insight into football tactics from a group of fans that think Keegan is some kind of football management messiah sent to end their years in the trophy wilderness.
We've got more chance of staying up than they have of winning anything next season. I'd be willing to place bets on those outcomes.

fucking bunch of no-hopers.
finishing in the bottom half of the table season after season with the money they have spent overs the years, must really be quite an achievement.

a group of fans that think Keegan is some kind of football management messiah Wheras of course Pulis was in the frame for the Chelsea job from day one.... Get real fellas. If Tony turns to the 'snow on ball' antics next season you'll be down before the christmas decorations. The Geordie's are making a valid point and Fat Sam is talking out of his arse.

Erm, didn't Big Sam turn Bolton into a top half side with these kind of tactics?

Yes, you're right, and he did it with Griffin, Sidibe, Pericard...oh no, hang on, he did it with a Premiership squad.

And was it a Premiership squad when he got them promoted in 2001? Or did he make the relevant signings afterwards to develop them into a Premiership squad, whilst still using tactics not dissimilar to ours?

Prong, you're missing the point mate.
No-one I know is under any illusion about the task facing Stoke next season. It's the delusion of grandeur from the Geordies that's hard to fathom.

No they're not Prong. If we do stay up next season it'll be because of Pulis's stubborn tactics, not in spite of them. We've seen how TP performs in a relegation struggle, get your gameplan together and make sure everybody knows their role, it's one of his main strengths.
Keegan, is a curly haired twat who'll never win anything for toon in a month of Sundays. I stand to be corrected on that point.
Who says we'll go into the season without making any signings? Shall we just wait and see before we comment on our chances of survival.

No he didn't do it with a Premiership squad he did it with a squad about as good as ours will be added a bit of quality with every season they stayed up culminating in qualifying for Europe. Only one person talking out of their arse here prong and he supports the only team who played abysmally at the end of season play offs and weren't averse to many a hit and hope hoof up to Beckford (and cross the fingers) when faced with a vastly technically superior side in Doncaster.

That the top managers in the Prem didn't get where they are today by being mullered by long ball teams and big blokes.
Once they pass it round you for 90 minutes, what are you going to do?
The game has moved on since Bolton admittedly found some success with 'ugly' football. It's old hat Championship stuff, and not the key to the door many of you seem to think it is.

Has the game really moved on since 2006-07, Allardyce's last season there, where he once again got them into Europe? Plenty of teams in the Prem play a direct style - if we can modify it by adding some pace and creativity, there's no reason why we can't have a good crack at survival.

It crossed my mind that if Pulis had an absolute nightmare start to the season (a la billy davies) he may get replaced by the very same Big Sam come january?

This seems a redundant argument to me. We're not going to compete with Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool Arsenal anyway, whatever style of football we play.
If we're going to survive it'll be by playing to our strong points against the sides in the relegation mini league. It'll be by being effective on a relatively limited budget and sticking to that gameplan, not by suddenly metamorphosing into some New Brazil. Sure, we'll need a hatfull of new players, so do you want a medal for pointing that out or what?

It makes me so fucking angry all this bullshit. It's as if teams like Sunderland, Wigan, West Ham even play some sort of attractive football reminiscent of some ficticious golden age. They don't, it's arse juice spouted by fucking retards.

Gotta agree there we aint gonna pass the ball around the likes of your manure and chelsea but we can battle hard and show them that we aint gonna be a walk over.Ithink it will be vital for us to grind a couple of results out early and get our confidence up.

only us stoke fans could see our team reach the premiership and still find someat to argue with one another about!!! ;D who cares how we play and what others say, just enjoy the ride and let tony and uncle peter do what theyve gotta do. if we stay up, brilliant, if we dont, i know for sure any team pulis puts together will give nothing less than thier very best and we cant ask anything more than that. so goooaaaarrrrn stoke.
