I'm shit with computers so can any brainboxes on here give us a clue as to how to restore my laptop back to its original settings?
It's running so slow that I've decided I want to start all over again (not long had it restored so not as bad as it sounds).
It's a Packard Bell EasyNote if that means anything to anyone.
Cheers in advance.

The restore CD is the most efficient and easiest way to restore back to factory settings, personally i would confirm that you've got one and then wait and use that.

Oh right Dave. I thought there might be an application on the control panel that would do it as well, but I'm buggered if I can find it. I wouldn't mind but I haven't downloaded porn on it since I last had to have it reset

They normally install windows, and office for free, (university site licence), as long as you say you will remove it once you leave uni..... Then you won't have any of the reinstalled crap that usually comes with pre-built laptops/desktops. If you have any issues with hardware, download the relevant drivers from packard bell notebook website.

There is an option called system restore built into XP, this will not restore you back to factory settings but rather restore windows back to a certain date and time, instructions here support.microsoft.com/kb/306084You could give that a go, however if you are continually having problems IMO it would be better to run your restore CD then invest in a decent Internet Security Package (including firewall, anti-virus & anti spyware) Hope this helps. It goes in swings and roundabouts for me. Was once up to +8, been down to -12 too. Not too fussed. Glad I could help though.
